I'm the kind of person that in everyday life couldn't realt care less of someone's gender or race as long as they have their head on straight. If everyone wants to be equal then let's drop all the special snowflake titles and just be "American".

Amazing what people will argue about.....seems so dumb to argue about lady being dropped from all but women's basketball. If they did it to women's basketball then I would understand the outrage as that is a brand built by Pat Summit. When people think lady vols nationally it will always be women basketball that comes to mind first. You can still call them lady cold nobody is telling the fans they can't call the other women teams that. It's just Nike and the school will not sell it except for women's basketball.

It's business. Your always going to have to look for ways to minimize inventory while still making money. Limiting the random stuff that not even 1 percent of fans purchase for sports makes business sense. Instead you can use the same products for all sports.

I honestly wouldn't be too opposed to them doing the same with Women's BBall. If we are all from the same university, there is no reason we shouldn't all have the same name. Getting rid of the "Lady" part doesn't mean we lose all of our history suddenly.

If the majority of Lady Vols didnt care..then I wouldn't. The women who have fought it out for the BigOrange on the various fields of play..it is their opinion that matters to me..

The time to have discouraged the Lady Vols branding would have been before they established it. Now they've invested decades building and shaping it to stand for something. If former players, Pat, Holly and the people who built the brand care, then those should be the opinions that matter most.

It's stupid for UT to attract negative publicity over this. It's setting up to be a lose-lose proposition.
