A 16 team SEC is halfway to NFL-sized and would have enormous power especially with expansion into North Carolina and Virginia. Could honestly have enough power to break away from the NCAA entirely.

Something like this will break away from the NCAA IMO at some point and form their own rules.

All will have 4 team pods with a semi final and final in the conference.

Leading up to a final four with one team from each conference.

SEC
Alabama
Arkansas
Auburn
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
LSU
Missouri
Miss St
NC St
Ole Miss
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas A&M
Vandy
VT

BIG10
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan St
Minnesota
Nebraska
Northwestern
Ohio St
Oklahoma
Penn St
Purdue
Rutgers
Wisconsin

ACC
Boston College
Clemson
Cincinnati
UCONN
Duke
Florida St
Georgia Tech
Louisville
Miami
UNC
ND
Pitt
Syracuse
Virginia
Wake Forest
West Virginia

Pac 16
Arizona
Arizona St
Baylor
Cal
Colorado
Oregon
Oregon St
Stanford
Texas
TCU
UCLA
USC
UNLV
Utah
Washington
Washington St

Screwed
Oklahoma St
Kansas St
Iowa St
Texas Tech
WVU

I could see the ACC scooping a couple these and not adding Cincy or UCONN instead.

Also KU, OK, ect would leave their little brothers behind if a huge shift was happening and it came down to them being left out or not.

Also I doubt it would happen but no income generating schools in the healthy conferences (BIG, SEC, PAC) in states already with two teams in low population states should be nervous about getting booted.

Wash. St
Oregon St
Purdue
Miss St

Long story short, things will look a lot different in a 10-20 years.

Key phrase:"Every single SEC school will make more money off the SEC Network than Texas makes off the Longhorn Network"... My point is that Texas makes more total...and doesn't have to SHARE. Are you saying that Vandy and Mississippi State made more off FOOTBALL than Texas? The Longhorn Network was a bad deal for ESPN...not Texas.

What each SEC school makes individually is more than Texas makes on the whole with the Longhorn Network....

And yes, Vandy and MSU made more than Texas did on their network money.

Earlier in the month we heard Pig was having some issues again. Any update on him?

The rocky top insider weekly newsletter today said pig was one of the top offensive names mentioned when they polled their sources about guys really standing out in terms of performance and leadership. So I would say orange hammer tapped into his Derek Barnett candy lock source for that news

I think most football fans believe that given 2 teams with the exact talent, Saban would be Butch most of the time. So, my question is, with Bama beating us on the recruiting trail every year, how can we ever expect to beat them?( at least unitl Saban leaves. ) :question:Just being realistic here...:eek:hmy: :devilsmoke:

Just because people believe that doesn't make it true.

I guess I'm not being clear...Texas would not benefit from tearing up their deal with the Longhorn Network to join the SEC. Yes they would get a bigger payout from the NETWORK but they wouldn't get to effectively double dip from the Big 12's conference payout. They don't SHARE their Longhorn Network payout and still get paid by the conference. They raked in more than Tennessee last year...don't even bring in Vandy. :)

Whatever you choose to believe, bottom line is Texas got to big for the britches, A@M got smart and is in a much better spot than Texas. Their pompous ways have left them out in the cold, if they don't start winning the big network will implode. Texas would give their eye teeth to be in the SEC or the Pac for that matter, so go ahead and think Texas is making more money. Their mistakes haven't even begun to smell yet, Charlie Strong is going to start feeling the heat if they don't win a lot more than they lose. Going to be interesting to watch, and it couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

Don't disagree with the arrogance...they messed up an awesome rivalry and drove some quality conference opponents away...the Longhorn Network is a failure...for everybody but Texas. They won't ever join the SEC...they're making more money this way.

Well I promise you the SEC isn't losing any sleep over the littlehorn network. They are making due just fine in the premium conference, good luck to the littlehorns and their independent life. GO VOLS!!!!!

What is the basis for believing that Saban is such a great coach? He's had a huge talent disparity due to #1 classes forever, and yet he manages to lay eggs almost every year. Tennessee has been at a significant talent deficit the entire time Butch has been here. This will be the first season that we're near parity with the top SEC teams....*near* parity.

The SEC's sleep patterns wasn't what got this discussion started. :). It was the hypothetical of them ever joining the SEC.
