Potentially huge couple of days for UT

UGA has just hired an unknown.

The U has hired a real coach that can weaken UF.

Bama lost their DC. (Possibly OC next)

USCe is in a holding pattern still to this day even though they entered coaching search months ago.

Nobody wants to touch the Missouri job with a 10 foot pole.

All this is going on while we have one of the country's best recruiters as a head coach. And after years are floundering we are now the most stable program in the SEC East.

Apparently Durkin interviewed with Maryland during the ohio state week. Any chance Harbaugh put out feelers to Jancek (Michigan born and bred), which then caused Butch to put out feelers just in case?

Why do you keep thinking Stripling wants to retire with all this D line talent being brought in? It just makes no sense to think he would anytime soon. Don't get it.

It's just a guess based on nothing of significance

Spend a short time with him once and I didn't get the impression he would do this thing a whole lot longer

I am hoping it was just butch doing due diligence in case something happened with all the coaching carousel, but we retain Jancek for next season. We just happened to catch wind of it through OV's knowledge of things pertaining to Ga compared to other calls being made behind the scenes everywhere.

Ok, got it, spent time with him. That makes a little more sense. Maybe picked up a vibe in conversation. But I agree and hope he does not retire anytime soon.

Why would they hire a guy that admits he doesn't care about defense?

Pinkel's background was as an OC. They got really good when Owen Daniels was throwing the ball around the field. Certainly, they have been more defense oriented recently, but they also had James Franklin a couple of years ago. I believe they need excitement and throw the ball around. This year showed that you have to score.
