The fact is that this team has looked good for a handful of quarters over this entire season. Butch is in year 4. Beating Appy State and Ohio should not be a struggle, and losing to a team like SC shouldn't even be considered a possibility.

Nobody's saying you're wrong. Nobody. The loss on 10/29/16 was a terrible loss. Inexcusable.

We're just saying that it happens. Fulmer year 4 (and a half, really)...much worse loss than last Saturday. And that team (Team 100, right?), with respect to personnel, was in much better shape than the current team.

Well for what it's worth, we're all ready for Tennessee football to be back. That's the one thing we all have in common.

Nobody agrees on much of anything else, but we all want the same thing.

Another thing we all want this weekend is for Arky to roll UF. Woo pig! And go Dawgs!

Pretty simple to me:

Florida isn't as good as people make them out to be. Product of a bad schedule. Coached well but players aren't there offensively.

Georgia is poorly coached. They have enough talent to not be where there record is.

TN is a cluster F. No way around it. At times poorly coached. When coached well, players suck it up. Then worst injury scenario you could have ever predicted and said no way in heck that actually happens has actually happened. Yet somehow should only have 1 loss.

S. Carolina nothing to write home about but they are better than they were early in season. So instead of awful I label them as bad to decent.

KY is so freaking overrated it's a joke. Why people can't look at the schedule and see why they are winning now is beyond me. They do this every year then lose to beef of schedule. They will lose to UGA.

Vandy same ole vandy. Great on defense and bad on offense. Sad part is they can upset TN if we don't straighten up. Vandy will play their guts out vs us and if we show up lazy we will lose.

Mizzu. Looked to be improving but that was clearly schedule and now injuries on defense they can't even play defense now. Scary part is it kind of sounds like that Dooley year when we thought no way in heck they should beat us and they did in OT.

Arian Foster claims he was paid at Tennessee, backtracks on Twitter | SI.com

This comes one year after saying he was starving in college because he was broke. Which was it? I know the answer because I knew his dad. Far from broke.

Hurd hurt the team. Foster tried to hurt the program.

I disagree that he tried to hurt the program. He knew they wouldn't investigate and that he had no obligation to talk to the NCAA. What you say in interviews doesn't count in terms of the NCAA - you gotta talk to them. Arian's a lot of things but he's not stupid. He was lying because he could and knew it hurt no one. If he wanted to hurt the program he'd have went to NCAA instead but he didn't. He just wanted the attention for himself and for the topic.

And for the third time, I do agree that he was lying.

So he needlessly lied for a good cause ?

Hurd hasn't said a thing to the media and has caused zero public problems. Some of you guys are too emotional.

Precisely. He didn't say a word to the media which is rather meaningless in Arian's situation. What he did was quit during a game and cause harm to his team during an actual game because of his behavior.

Yep, a lackluster, poorly coached team is going to ATL to be the East's sacrificial lamb at the altar of Saban. So why not us?

I believe that 2012 Missouri team was much better than this year's version. I believe James Franklin (QB) also got hurt that year. They lost to five top 10 teams that year (UGA, UF, USCe, Bama, and A&M). Pretty rough schedule.

We are the only team that can beat bama if we play to our potential. By that game we would be healthy outside of Maybin, KMAC and Tuttle

If we could put together 4 qtrs of quality FB, I think we could give them a game. Still waiting on the 4 qtrs, though.

if arkansas wins tmw our season remains interesting, if florida wins we are out and just playing out the schedule with no goal other than improving our record and bowl draw. go hogs.

I just think if we win the East (it would be winning the East because us and FL would both be 0-2 vs West and we beat them head to head) and go 10-4 with our best record in a decade there is no way you can't be happy with that.

IF we had gone though this year with Sutton, Reaves Maybin, Kirkland Jr, McKenzie, Tuttle, O'Brien, Kamara, all the OL, Sapp, McDowell, Abernathy, Foreman, Berry and on and on and on mainly healthy and had those results, I'd be a bit more down. But people shrugging of those injuries IRK me.

If JRM and Sutton both went pro last year, you know and I know we would not have been picked to win the East this year. That is basically what we've been playing with but worse because all offseason we prepared like we would have them both as the key cogs to our team. And to make matters worse we've had other significant injuries to the players right behind them in their positions.

I for one will be very happy still with the trajectory of our program IF we close out with 3 big wins and a battle in the Dome and a bowl win.

Fulmer coached TN for 17 years and only won the SEC twice.

It isn't a all or nothing goal.

You just nailed something that too much of the fanbase has bought into and that's this idea that not only was 'this our year' but also that it has to be this your or it will never happen. That's just not true. I hate this notion that other teams have to be down for us to win it and the most cited reason for us to win was that everyone else sucked. That's never been something I've been keen on and just as soon as you declare everyone else trash is the moment you get surprised (I swear this team bought the preseason hype about themselves and also that everyone else in the East was downright awful).

We should be able to compete for the East and SEC every year and win it some of those years but being picked to win it is an almost guarantee that you won't win it that year (seriously the media is almost always wrong about picking a favorite - kiss of death level wrong).

If we don't make it to the SECCG this year, there's no rule that we only get one shot at this ever but that's how a lot of fans have treated this year.

Actually, aside from so far this year Championship Bama teams have tended to drop at least one game every single year to an inferior opponent.

Check out my post after that, it will clarify what I was intending to say.

And concerning Bama, how many times since Saban won his first championship have they been underdogs going into a game?
