na because if we beat them we dont finish tied at all.

If UK beats UGA and loses to UT, they go 5-3 in the SEC.

If UT wins out, UT goes 5-3 in the SEC.

In this scenario, UT and UK end up tied for 2nd, with UT holding the tiebreaker.

The only way to move ahead of UK in the SECE is for UT to win out and UK to lose to both UGA and UT. This is the best scenario for UT recruiting, if we can't tie UF for 1st.

Of course, if UT wins out and UF loses out, UT could still win the SECE outright. If that happens, we should all rush out and buy lottery tickets.

As long as we win out we'll be fine with recruiting. If we lose another........

Hypothetical:

Tennessee loses to Ky and Vandy and finishes 7-5 before bowl. Think a change should be made?

Just makes his seat super-hot, imo. Our injury situation is similar to Florida's in 2012 and they finished far worse than we can at this point since we've already reached more wins than they had all season. As much as that scenario would suck, he'd get another year.

A change at the top will not be made, but big changes underneath him will be forced, in my opinion. Also, he will be on an extremely short leash next year, and my guess would be he would have to win the East to remain after that.

Assuming a win tomorrow, I don't think there is any set of circumstances notwithstanding those resulting in firing "for cause" that would result in Butch being let go this year.

Good teams get upset every weekend. Take off the Orange colored glasses, and look around college football.

The expectations of 10-2 were real. We were a great team, before injuries.

With them we are a good team, but not great. Take a breath, and go Hogs.

oh you mean for 2nd place, nvm.

in 2014 when dobbs took over down the stretch i got excited about watching him play the rest of the year regardless that we were 3-5 or whatever we were. im feeling that same way about john kelly the rest of this season. the ball is his, im anxious to see him go.

I love this place. Most predicable place ever.

Sunday: USCe loss is the most embarrassing bad loss ever. Fire Jones I am done.

5 days later: USCe isn't a bad team. They may win 3 of their last 4. Even if they don't every team has losses like this. GBO! It was the players that lost the game anyway.

No, not from me. Still a very embarrassing loss. Worst of Jones career.

Another bad thing (other than the obvious) about a bad finish this year is with Dave Hart still the acting AD and Butchs seat hot for 2017, what great OC would be willing to come- especially with a short contract and not as much stability about the future? Yet another reason Butch should have taken this opportunity 2 years ago and brought in a great hire when we were on the upswing.

I think beating UF and UGA along with the rash of injuries would keep him safe even if your hypothetical happens. This would force a major staff overhaul though, which I think would be a difficult task. Attracting top coaches to work under a coach on the hot seat in basically a win or get out year is not ideal.

maybe he will go get someone like helfrich that could work with jg and actually run the offense without him.

i think Blackburn hire is just a formality at this point trying to do it in order with chancellor hire first

LWS thinks Rich Rod would consider comingome here but he is not sure Butch would go that route. Butch would have to swallow some pride by cutting his leash on the O
