He throws off his back foot a lot. If he's Tennessee Peterman 2.0 won't surprise me

Yep, but I don't see anything else to suggest Peterman 2.0.

I'm a Guarantano guy myself, but having two solid qb's is a good problem to have. I think we have been very lucky with how Dobbs has been able to stay healthy, knock on wood.

Meh, KY is 109th is passing offense, 103rd in completion percentage and 81st in sacks given up. Not concerned with their passing attack, although, theoretically, they are capable of hitting a couple deep balls on us but getting "burned all night" isn't going to happen against KY.

I tend to agree and was a little loose with "all night", but if they keep throwing to Mosley's side the way he has been playing lately, he could prove me right unfortunately...

I think JG is the real deal.

My biggest issue will be if Butch plays QD over him based on seniority or he is safer, etc.

We all know that's gonna happen. QD starts out the season, QD plays ok up until UF game and lays an egg and we lose.

JG starts next game and balls out and plays rest of season and we win all our games except for BAMA. (We lose that one due to conservative play calling and JG inexperience)

But hey 10-2 next year would be progress!

With how bad the SEC East is if JG lives up to the hype and his ranking I could see him making Butch look like a genius over the next few seasons. UT winning the SEC East over and over and over again. Go from a punchline to "elite coach" just like Dabo at Clemson.

Think about it...imagine if Dobbs was a really good passer? Isn't that JG...Dobbs with a strong, accurate arm?
Hold up, the East is bad!?

Kentucky is 10th in penalty yards per game. UT is 84th. That is their first real decisive advantage I've seen. They also have a solid advantage in rushing yards per game.

Biggest question marks on our team going into next year? My list:

Offense:

1. Left Tackle (can Richmond improve enough?)
2. Quarterback (I'm not overly concerned about QB because I'm confident one of the three will emerge as a great player)

Defense:

1. Defensive End (Kongbo is still raw, but shows promise. Phillips and Taylor do good things, but we will miss Barnett).
2. Cornerback (both spots should be up for grabs in the spring/summer. No one on our returning roster has shown anything close be All-SEC caliber)
3. OLB (Berry? McDowell? Neither has been great, but both are serviceable).
4. Defensive Tackle: Can Tuttle and KMac heal in time to be game ready by GT? Will Alexis Johnson live up to his potential?

In looking at it this way, I think we have a really strong team coming back next season. No reason we shouldn't be competing for the East again, and who knows beyond that if a little luck goes our way.

Could the East be the worst coached division out of the Power 5?

Mushcamp, Smart, Mcelwain, Mason, Stoops,
Odom, and the best HC being Jones.

Naw. Peterman too robotic and couldn't handle pressure regardless of opponent. I've seen Dormady make much better throws at different angles on run or under pressure. Dormady doesn't have to have perfect mechanics to make a good throw. It's limited looks but I've seen him consistently put ball where WR can make more yards. I love Guarantano for this offense more but i still think Dormady is going to be good himself whether that is here or somewhere else.

Sup.

After the SC game I forced myself to not even come here. Not even to lurk. Didnt wanna see the meltdown nor be tempted to comment myself. Needed some time away. Get my inner volssambone calmed down. I doubt others did the same. I bet the meltdown was something to behold.

I came back on after our win/FL's loss and started lurking sat evening.

Good call.

Completely agree, TOP 50 POSTER :)

I just get the impression that they think they undershot with Kelly and will aim higher next time. IMO, they'll try to get someone who has a championship pedigree. I mentioned Les Miles, because he's a strong family guy, religious, with kids in Catholic schools. He has a history of winning, has won Championships and recruits well. This is the kind of guy I think ND could be looking for-- but again, I'm just speculating.

Makes since. I bet they give Butch a look see though if they haven't already.
