I do not think it will be an advantage. Somebody may laugh at me, but I am actually worried a little bit about Kentucky gashing us in the run game the entire time. They ran the ball very effectively against Georgia. When you can line up in the wildcat, and everyone and their mama know you're running it, yet still gash The defense, then that is something to worry about. They will be lining up to do that against an all DE front. I am not sure how we will slow that down. I think stoops will slow the game down considerably and run the football, trying to limit our possessions like Appy state did. We need to tackle extremely well… Snell runs very hard.

Yes, but we got gashed with our big slower guys playing vs Appy St, same with UGA vs UK. More speed might helps us by getting off blocks and chasing down tackles. Don't know, just a thought, we shall see. I do think it will be another fun and enthusiastic game for the Vols and the fans now that we know we have something to play for again.

Everyone I've heard in Arkansas wants him to finish his career for the Hogs. The consensus around the water cooler and talk radio here is Butch is clueless about how to run an offense and Hurd would kill it at Arky, Bama, LSU. Very little criticism for Hurd, and LOTS of criticism for Butch, at least from talk radio hosts and callers and all my hog fan coworkers. No one likes the quitting part though, which is what's going to hurt him the most. Transferring the right way would have saved him so many millions.

You really need to stop listening to Arkansas radio. :)

Here is a name that everyone needs to be looking out for in the next few years.

Samson Johnson.

Kid is a 12 year old that I watched play in the 12u rec league championship at Vandy's stadium on Sunday evening. He plays QB and LB. Phenomenal athlete. He was out running, out juking, and out hitting everyone on the field. Just a beast.

Don't think SC beats Florida but it would be an awesome surprise. I think LSU wins a close one. Their defense will shut down UF but their offense is very mediocre.

Arkansas winning was huge for us.

KY will gash us, this will be a very close game...we will have to actually bend and not break, holding them to field goals, while we must score TDs or it will be super close. Our injuries on D will show up Saturday. Would love to have Foreman back, but no one seems to know anything about his status... our DBs better learn to turn and track the ball for once in their lives, or they will get burned all night.

I could see a 45-31 type score.

With how bad the SEC East is if JG lives up to the hype and his ranking I could see him making Butch look like a genius over the next few seasons. UT winning the SEC East over and over and over again. Go from a punchline to "elite coach" just like Dabo at Clemson.

Think about it...imagine if Dobbs was a really good passer? Isn't that JG...Dobbs with a strong, accurate arm?

I think you described Dormady as well, just saying. :)

Meh, KY is 109th is passing offense, 103rd in completion percentage and 81st in sacks given up. Not concerned with their passing attack, although, theoretically, they are capable of hitting a couple deep balls on us but getting "burned all night" isn't going to happen against KY.

Who the heck knows? Before the season, the media reports made PW sound like Randy Moss. I've gotten to the point where I don't believe anything about a player until I see it on the field.

Interesting stat regarding our offensive production:

We've played 6 top 25 defenses in terms of "Scoring Defense" in all of college football this year so far, including 3 in the top 10. Kentucky is T87. We are 53rd.

I like Dormady. I think he's a better passer than Dobbs for sure but don't think he's got the same wheels. And he might win the job but if JG lives up to the hype/ranking and wins the job it could be just what this offense needs to explode.

Good point.

But we all know Preston has the talent just didn't have the work ethic and/or just got tired of this system/staff. He's no doubt going to be the best player on Colorado State's team, right? I wouldn't doubt it if over the next year or two we see him on SportsCenter Top 10 quite a few times and they'll be posts immediately all over VN saying "why couldn't he do that here?!?! Fahr Butch!"
