RF is the sunshine pumper forum. No one learned from end of Dooley & Sunseri's tenure.
We don't have the defense to stop anyone. I expect both Missouri and even Vandy to be shootouts like kentucky
Yep, cause any DC could lose almost their entire starting defense as well as many backups, be forced to play 4th and 5th stringers at multiple positions and not miss a beat! Heck, other DCs could still field a top 25 defense with their 4th string D. Come on guys! Shoop has to be terrible
There are a lot of ignorant people on here these days. Comparing Shoop to Sunseri....hell, or even Jancek for that matter.
Edit: Let me correct myself on something. I should not have used the word ignorant. Ignorant by definition means lack of knowledge. What you guys are showing is complete stupidity.
Jancek knew the personale and would have absolutely not allowed complete meltdowns like shoop has. His defenses were prepared and shoops aren't. Shoop is the better in game coach but when you spot the opponent an opening drive TD every game it gets old.
He isn't terrible but he has been a disappointment plain and simple.

You're a new defensive coordinator. Your new players may know your reputation, but they aren't familiar with your scheme on any intricate level. Fans think there was a lot of similarity between you and your predecessor, but in reality the reads, assignments and tendencies aren't exactly what your players are used to.
You spend the offseason working with your starters, teaching them where to be and when to be there. They're talented, they pick it up quickly.
Then, one by one, they get injured. They're replaced by backups: in this case not as much experience, in that case not as much talent, in all cases not who you spent most of your time with in the offseason. So there are more slow reactions, more blown assignments. But the injuries keep coming. Now you're scrambling. You're digging deep into the depth chart now; a few guys are having to play entirely out of position. They have even less talent and experience. You throw away most of your playbook - you're fortunate just to get all of these guys lined up right on any given play.
Do you see why this would lead to a struggle on defense? If he had been here for a few years already, I would hear your viewpoint. Then these deep bench players would be guys with system familiarity - maybe they aren't as talented as the guys ahead of them on the depth chart, but they've been around a few years and they generally know where to be. Shoop doesn't have that luxury. He's dealing with players with no experience, a deficit on talent and a lack of knowledge.
IMO expecting anything from the defense is unreasonable given the current circumstances. This year is an anomaly.
Charlie Campbell has AK going to the giants at No.23 overall now. Said that scouts believe he has Jamal Charles type of upside
I cannot believe he hasn't been the feature back for the last two years after seeing what he is capable of the last several games!! So frustrating! A true VFL tho to stick it out!
Shoop most likely would have won last year's UF game and sent us to Atlanta. That argument is with proof from our defensive performance in the second half of this year's game when they were missing 3 key players. You are starting to spout some nonsense. It also gets old when you keep beating this drumb.
Starting to spout some nonsense?!?
He started that years ago and has been on my ignore list ever since. id advise you to do the same. ;-)
