Wolf had better stats last year than 2014. His stats this year are more in line with 2014.

Didn't Jones have a TE leading the receivers one year at Cincinnati? It seems like I read that somewhere.

It just doesn't seem like TE production is a problem of the offensive scheme itself. They seem to be on the field enough and run routes frequently.
Travis Kelce. One of the better tight ends in football right now

I think there should be a rule that anyone advocating for the firing of a coach must also post at least three candidates to replace that coach. At least it would give us something else to consider.

I especially think this is important for anyone calling for a HC to be fired. It's not just getting rid of a guy. It's who you can get in return.

Personally don't think DeBord is bad at play calling. That's just me though.

For the most part, he's been fine this year, IMO. I don't think he adjusted in the Bama game very well. I know the OL had its issues; however, I don't think he was creative enough to get guys in space. I also don't think he challenged Bama's DBs enough.

Running Hurd between the tackles clearly wasn't going to work, and he didn't abandon that soon enough. We got behind in the down and distance too early too often. When Kamara had a lead blocker (Hurd), the play was usually productive in regards to the run game.

FWIW, Elder didn't coach TEs in his last two seasons at Cincy.

Top 5 Elite Coaches in CFB:

1. Saban
2. Meyer
3. Harbaugh
4. Peterson (Washington)
5. Stoops (OU)

2nd Tier:

1. Patterson (TCU)
2. Shaw (Stanford)
3. Freeze (Ole Miss)
4. Fisher (FSU)
4. Dantonio

harbaugh is a good coach, but can't be considered Elite in College yet, he hasn't done anything...

I agree with you. Too many people calling for his head that have absolutely no clue beyond whether a play worked or not.

People blaming him for play calling during the Alabama game are just as stupid. I'm pretty sure (and think it is evidenced in watching the game) that somewhere in the second quarter the decision was made to concede the game rather than losing our QB to injury. There is more at stake to this season than the Bama game on the 15th and with a patchwork OL (with freshmen starting for the first time) it wasn't worth the risk. Live to fight another day.

JMO, but if I am correct, then I agree wholeheartedly with the decision.

I agree. He's got as good a shot as any at Michigan. I'd say there's better chance he does than doesn't at this point, but stranger things have certainly happened.

Agree, but he rolled into a blue chip program with descent talent already there, in a weak conference... I don't think he would be doing as well in a lesser program that doesn't have the name brand... plus he's creepy as hell... :p

I believe Barnes has stated that he was willing to develop a program and his players at UT. He doesn't mind taking guys who might need a couple of years to develop. He got burned a few times at Texas with guys who thought they were one and done players but really weren't. I thought it was a good hire. We will see how these guys develop. We need some beef, but we actually have a true PG for the first time since Pearl left, and we have 2 of them.

Wasn't one of the biggest issues last year is that we didn't have a true "big man"? Did we get any this past cycle?

As Jave said, his previous record at Stanford speaks volumes, but, yes, he does seem really creepy.

He turned Stanford around. 2 wins to 11 wins in 2 years or something like that? He's an elite coach, pro or college.

I'd say he has elite potential, but that's kind of splitting hairs. Still, we've all seen guys with similar hype flame out. I will say that the Stanford stint gives him more credibility than most. It'll be interesting to see what he can do with Urbie up there.

Do you want folks to reach out to their agents first too? You know, to see if they are even interested.

Maybe post salaries as well, just to make sure they are in the same ballpark.

I agree. There are some personnel limitations on our offense at the moment and for the most part it has produced against good defenses.

I think there are probably more people that agree than disagree (at least of the fans that look at more than W/L's to judge coaching). Is he a great OC? Debatable IMO. Is he good to really good? Probably.

He actually does a really good job of planning ahead on plays. Setting up plays with other (similar) plays.

Hopefully they drag each other down, make them split the cold weather recruits instead of urbie getting all of them.

He's definitely not great, IMO. Wildly inconsistent and uncreative to be great. He's proven he's capable of calling good halves though and even a couple good games, so you can't say he's terrible.

And people saying his OL handcuffs him, go watch arky. Austin Allen has been knocked down more times than anyone in the SEC (or close to it) and is still the #1 passer in the league. And Allen isn't mobile enough to escape much, unlike Dobbs. And they have the #1 rusher, despite having just awful OL play. A good OC can scheme around deficiencies, and I just don't see that Debord can do that.

JG the future

At the start of fall camp, a lot of people said that JG was already flashing big time talent and would pass Dormady sometime this year. That's probably what's happened in practice and Dormady sees it. If that's what has happened he's got a redshirt he hasn't used and might as well find somewhere he can play not a bad move for his future.

It's nice just being talked about for the Playoffs, after all the injuries and this last 4 game stretch. Guys, remember, just 3 years ago, UT was needing to beat Vandy in the last game of the year just to make it to a bowl game.

Ole Miss might be in that spot this year
