Agreed it happens all over the country. It's a good ole boy network that is used to protect athletes.

Remember the lawsuit is suggesting we have an atmosphere of protecting our athletes. This makes me believe that and yes I know it happens a lot of places.

Good ole boy network or protocol?

Does a good ole boy network occur only in the south? What's it called in the northeast, Midwest and west coast?

If he knew a student under his watch was assaulted and did nothing it's a huge problem

Conflicting reports on that. Maggitt denies it happens. Many on this Board swear it did and Vq has said butch handled it appropriately.

It's the biggest part of this for me. If he didn't protect bowls properly then all the other stuff could snow ball quickly

IMO

What's doing "nothing?" If it happened, I assume he chewed out Maggitt and made sure Bowles was ok. But then again, I am speculating like you. Butch can't live his players' lives and make decisions for them. He has suspended every player who has ever been investigated or charged. Butch's dad was a police chief. He ain't dumb. Again, let's move on.

Exactly. It's more like professional courtesy. Especially with Butches fathers background in law enforcement his respect for it, along with the way he has run this program I'm sure he has a solid reputation with KPD.

If he treated an assault as a boys will be boys while dealing with a "traitor" then it's trouble.

Since maggitt claims an assault never took place it's very evident no punishment was given that cbj call fall back on

Perhaps Bowles was never assaulted but a number of very good posters here claim he was

Well, seeing as Butch Jones has actually been a HC-- with some success at that--, I'd say that makes his resume infinetly better. Being the DC under the best defensive mind in college football isn't incredibly impressive to me.

Well, I guess we'll see what kind of HC he will be. I can tell you as a UGA grad, married to a UGA grad, with a son whose a UGA grad and a daughter at UGA, there's more excitement in Athens than there has been in many, many years. Plus, he has Nick Saban's vote of confidence. Like I said, you may have more football knowledge than Saban but, until your judgement proves correct, I'm going with Saban.

I loved coach Richt, but he wasn't as bright nor as hard-working as coach Smart. Even the players say there is a much better sense of direction than they saw under the former staff. There are no guarantees. But we're pretty happy with Smart and his resume'. And I think most SEC schools would love to have a coach of Smart's caliber.

Better be careful with all the "boat race" talk.

This board along with most of the Country felt and many still do that was the case at FSU

I don't give two craps what happened, what the rest of the country thinks about us or if we are made out to be a villain.

I love Butch Jones, Tennessee, Team 120 and as long as nothing diverts this program's rise back into the elite of CFB this fall, I DON'T GIVE A DAMN!

100% agree

However This topic is one that could unfortunately certainly divert this programs rise back into the elite of CFB

Lol Saban gave Dooley a vote of confidence.

Boat race coming up.

Exactly. Votes of confidence for "your guys" means less than nothing regardless of the coaching acumen of who says it.

What is he supposed to say? That the guy is average to ****ty? Saban is a tough cookie but he still wants his guys to get paid.
