Saban had his rookie year. So did Jones. So did every HC in all of football. No one knows what Smart will do. But, as a UGA fan, you have to love what he's done so far in recruiting and hiring Chaney and Pittman. He grew up around coaching with his dad, and was a very intelligent player while at UGA. Couple that with his Bama experience and his connections with HS coaches in the state of GA and I think the prospects for success are pretty good.
UGA will have a pretty stout defense this year. Should be among the best in the SEC. And could be the SEC dark horse on offense. I'm not sure about any boat race in Athens. Might happen. Might not.
Exactly. Votes of confidence for "your guys" means less than nothing regardless of the coaching acumen of who says it.
What is he supposed to say? That the guy is average to ****ty? Saban is a tough cookie but he still wants his guys to get paid.
Couple of things.
1. Derek Dooley also hired Sam Pittman and Chaney.
2. Derek Dooley also had a dad in coaching.
3. Derek Dooley also came from the Saban tree.
4. Why will it be a boat race in Athens? It should have been one in Knoxville. Y'all had two fluke touchdowns in the punt return with a block in the back and a 99 yard fumble return. Take those 14 away and give us 7 that's easily a 45-14 game. Oh yeah, we bring back everybody. Good luck October 1.
Lol
Boat Race! Post this please.
It's April 1 and Georgia already has 3 losses
There's no guaranted that CBJ will even be on the sidelines this fall: Butch Jones phone records show calls with Drae Bowles
But even if he is, I'm not impressed with his resume'. I think CKS has better coaching pedigree and is a much brighter and more skillful coach. Better be careful about the "boat race" comments. They might make it to the UGA locker room. My son's a grad asst.
How do I know he has coaching skills? We'll, he led Bama's defense to 4 NC's. What's on Jones' resume that equals that? Nick Saban, a name you might know, says that Smart is one of the brightest young minds in CFB and will be successful. You might know better than coach Saban. But I'm going with his judgement for now.
If he treated an assault as a boys will be boys while dealing with a "traitor" then it's trouble.
Since maggitt claims an assault never took place it's very evident no punishment was given that cbj call fall back on
Perhaps Bowles was never assaulted but a number of very good posters here claim he was

If you think that article matters, then you are actually brain dead. I wasn't going to judge your mental capacity too much just for being a UGA fan, but if you think that article actually means anything then I've made my decision.
"Oh no, Butch called everyone involved in a rape case and their parents; musta been shady. No way was it just to see how people are doing and the article a ploy to drag out the case."
Also lmao at telling your GA son that we are going to boat race UGA. If you keep denying it, I might go tell my grand pappy you big, mean willy.

I don't know, dude. Sounds like CBJ's got some splainin' to do. I've never heard of a CFB HC having a "police laison" before. The NCAA's gonna have a field day with that one.
I'd be very careful with all of the boasting. But you go right ahead. You have nothing to lose as you have absolutely nothing to do with the program. I'd bet a lot of money that CBJ wouldn't touch your "boat race" analogy. But keep it up. I'll be here in the fall as well.
