To be clear all I am saying is people accused of a crime Should all me treated the same.

None should be warned before their belongings are searched just Because of the sport they play or where they play it

AJ knew the police were investigating this before his apartment was searched. Heck, I knew the police were investigating this before his apartment was searched, and I am extremely far removed from the situation. It's naive and dumb to act like Butch and AJ wouldn't have found out otherwise; it's libelous and dumb to suggest that Butch would somehow destroy all evidence if the police tell him that his players have been accused of a crime.

Lol
Please read my post closer before throwing out bs like that

I am not, nor have I suggested that jones did anything wrong like you suggest.

The mere opportunity to, given by the preferential treatment by police, will add fuel to the lawsuits fire that our players are being protected even if in reality they aren't.

I think it's completely above board for the local police chief to inform the head coach of a major college athletic program when a player is being accused of and potentially being arrested for a crime. He is responsible for those kids while they're on his team. In addition he needs to make a quick decision on what action he needs to take. Keep in mind if he doesn't act quickly he's accused of coddling to the athlete.

Agreed as long as it doesn't compromise the investigation in anyway.

You can choose to look at the call as being underhanded and an attempt to circumvent the investigation if you like. I tend to believe otherwise and it's totally normal for the police to keep the head coach informed as to the disposition of one of his players. Also, I would be willing to bet that the apartment was being surveilled while the warrant was being obtained.

I agree with you for sure BUT I am discussing what this will be portrayed as in the context of the lawsuit.

IMO The entire thing for butch centers around if an assault happened in the lockerroom in front of any staff members. If it did indeed happen and protocol wasn't followed afterward then all these other topics like this one are much easier to believe something underhanded went on.

Pssst, until last season's CMR meltdown and cheap hit against Chubb, which forced him out for the season, UT was:

winless vs. Florida since 2004
winless vs. Alabama since 2006
winless vs. Georgia since 2009

Two of those records still stand. Now you're boat racing?
"Cheap hit against Chubb" is where I stopped reading. It was too stupid a comment to get past.

If our HC was in the position that your HC is in, I damn sure would't be making any "boat race" comments. I think there's a very good possibility that CBJ could be fired and face criminal charges. You can't interfere with police investigations. Even if you have a liaison and are a HC.

Yes, he interfered with the investigation so much that he suspended the players immediately and they were charged with a crime. The amount of wishful and delusional thinking by our rival fan bases is wondrous to behold.

Yes that is the version of the story we all hope happened but it isn't the only way it could have happened

Yeah, they could have all conspired to have the alleged victim murdered.

Or they could have elaborately planned for AJ to have weed, a grinder, and pertinent evidence in his room.

Or they could have just discussed the 50 shades of grey movie.

Or they could have done Mad-Libs over the phone.

I agree 100% percent with you that we should
Be wringing our hands over all the things that could have happened and annoying everyone else on the board.

It's like we're the only ones who can see things straight and everybody else is crazy! Weird, right?

Edit: keep posting page after page of pointless speculation if you agree.

Has had some really bad breaks this year but 5 years is a long time.

IMO is this team doesn't finish in the top 10 of the SEC it's time to move on

He is a proven coach. Winning in the SEC in baseball is as hard or harder than winning in football. It takes time. We need to find a way to give him another year or two to get it turned around if possible. I have been encouraged by some things this season. We need to find a way to win a couple of SEC series soon though.

It's in the bottom 3 of the league in terms of ability to win so yes I agree it's very hard

But I think 5 years is plenty enough time

I think he started from absolute rock bottom and tried to win with a style that simply doesn't work in the south. I agree that 5 years is enough time but I think he wasted too much time trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Completely agree he tried to use the wrong style and maybe the hiring of Simcox and changing that style buys him one more year

What makes it harder? I don't really follow college baseball, so just curious.
