I am not sure. I do know the whole thing is a mess. No reason Tech can't be very good in basketball. They need to make a good hire. Can't go wrong living in Atlanta or Nashville. But, being a native of the ATL, the appeal of all the major sports would make it my choice. Still miss that ability to get off work and go to a ball game with a 30-40 minute at most drive.

About to turn up the heat on one recruit in this area. I know several parents of his teammates. They are all huge UT fans. Operation Orange is a go. This kid is about to see Orange everywhere. Every practice, every game.

Guessing Jacoby.

Ron, GFW, and Volatil be dropping dimes all over the place. Where there's smoke, there's fire. I'm smelling a Butch-orchestrated commitment avalanche.

Soon...

Saban managed those Alabama defenses, not Smart. It's not rocket science.

Butch would be recruiting just as well, if not better if he were at GA.

I think it's too soon to say whether Smart will be a success or a failure at this point.

But it is a fact that he's the least experienced head coach in the SEC. And I don't think that bodes very well for him year one without an established QB and one of the more difficult schedules UGA has had in recent years.

If he can't scrape together a pretty dominant defense, it could be a long year for UGA.

This thread went south on 4/1 when the UGA fan started trolling. It's pretty unreadable for a few pages with some incredibly stupid and annoying posts by 'UGADawg4Life' - calling the Chubb injury 'cheap' without acknowledging the hit on Tuttle and the completely ignorant statements about there being an 'investigation' into Butch and the completely unfounded speculation about his future.

Jmo, but it might be worth considering not allowing rivals to post to the recruiting forum (Well, really just UGA fans). They have a way of hijacking the thread for pages at a time with emotionally charged opinions instead of facts.

As for the topic of Wray, I have to think that in-state recruiting is going to benefit tremendously from the season we are about to have which should include a trip to Atlanta following wins over both Florida and Georgia. That should help with both Stevens and Wray.

I wonder if the people responsible for the grass at Neyland have tried anything different this off season. Anybody know something on this?

That boy is all neck

I remember a certain QB that played at UT that was all neck also...

Scrape together?! Have you seen the players that we have returning? Some of you act like '16 is going to be a cakewalk for UT and the East is a given and all you're worried about is Bama. That's the kind of thinking that has the UT program in the position that it's in. You're fire one more coach and you're gonna have to start selling raffle tickets to pay the salaries. This thread got ugly but I have to say that the SEC East will be a dawgfight and not a "boat race". UT may return the most experience, but there are other programs with higher rated talent. And I think that we finally have a HC with a pulse who can coach kids up rather than down. All of the talk about "boat racing" in Athens is good board fodder. But the game will be played between the hedges and not on this board. Better put on your life jackets, the seas might be rocky for the boat race. We'll see.

I didnt realize scrape together was such a derogatory term. UGA has talent on their defense, no doubt. But they're going to have to be leaps and bounds better than they were last season if they want to carry their team having a chance to make it to Atlanta.

Edit: didn't, not isn't. Autocorrect is a b****
