I wonder if the people responsible for the grass at Neyland have tried anything different this off season. Anybody know something on this?

I still think that the football team and coaches need to stay off of it for basically an entire offseason if they ever want it to recover completely. No more painting for recruiting weekends or too many scrimmages in Neyland just because.

Let it grow in so they don't have to resod and then go from there in the fall.

They do rings in South Carolina.

As for retro championships, that is a joke. The way Bama and now Auburn "claims" they are champs is laughable at best.

We all do it. We have 2 unanimous, AP/BCS NC yet claim 6. If you like claiming 6 then you have to let Bama claim 16.

Claiming 6 is Bear Bryant screaming "if the local grocery store" names us champs, then we are champs. AU now wants to claim 9 titles instead of 2. UGA could claim 6 if they wanted as could GT if they wanted. They are called Mythical National Championships for a reason.

I remember a certain QB that played at UT that was all neck also...

I was thinking the same thing

I didnt realize scrape together was such a derogatory term. UGA has talent on their defense, no doubt. But they're going to have to be leaps and bounds better than they were last season if they want to carry their team having a chance to make it to Atlanta.

Edit: didn't, not isn't. Autocorrect is a b****

Scrape together?! Have you seen the players that we have returning? Some of you act like '16 is going to be a cakewalk for UT and the East is a given and all you're worried about is Bama. That's the kind of thinking that has the UT program in the position that it's in. You're fire one more coach and you're gonna have to start selling raffle tickets to pay the salaries. This thread got ugly but I have to say that the SEC East will be a dawgfight and not a "boat race". UT may return the most experience, but there are other programs with higher rated talent. And I think that we finally have a HC with a pulse who can coach kids up rather than down. All of the talk about "boat racing" in Athens is good board fodder. But the game will be played between the hedges and not on this board. Better put on your life jackets, the seas might be rocky for the boat race. We'll see.

I would bet that Dawgs fans will be wanting Richt back after a couple of years. Saban's assistants don't have a good track record of being good coaches. Trust UT fans when we tell you that. UGA situation looks eerily similar to UT's situation with the Fulmer firing.

I don't understand how someone calls Chubb's injury cheap. He was hit in the back to push him out of bounds. He planted his foot to brace the fall and the knee hyper-extended. This play is on youtube.

Contrast that to the Tuttle injury. He's tackled at the legs from behind. Also on youtube through the full game post.

Just a huge difference. I know we've been over this a hundred times.

This year may be a 'dawgfight' in the East (I think UT is more talented than UGA or UF, but I expect the games should be close so anything can happen) but the fan expectations are NOT what got UT in the mess they're in.

UT fans were a picture of patience with Fulmer and Dooley compared to you guys throwing Richt out on his butt. Fulmer won 58% of his games over his last 4 years and Dooley won 42% in his 3 years here. Richt won 75% of his games in the last 4 years. If unrealistic fan expectations got UT into trouble then UGA is really screwed.

They aren't close, one was as dirty a play as you'll find. Lineman cut Tuttle dirty because he was mad a freshman was whooping him as a senior.

Who has better talent? And we're going to maul y'all between and through the hedges. Shoop is going to dismantle Chaney.

Just looked at your schedule from last year. Besides BAMA, all those teams struggled on offense so that's not really bragging.

Bowling Green would have put up more points on you than Ky, Vandy, Florida, etc.

Btw we didn't get blown out by Alabama and actually held them to their lowest point and yardage of the season. We also had the most yardage against them all year.

One more thing. Unless you count 3rd string depth, our team IS in fact just as talented as any other team in the SEC. 3/4 of our defense will be playing on Sunday's. I don't need to go into our offense, you already know about that 😭😉

Honestly, I'm not even talking about that irate dawg fan in this thread. I can't see any team slowin down our rushing attack. Dobbs/Hurd/Kamara and even Kamara in the slot or Kelly in the slot. Filthy.

Jujuan Jennings is a dog and a filthy blocker like Hines Ward. He'll smash those GA defenders and make them look like 'Hines' Ketchup.

Don't talk to teams that are beneath you. 😁

All the years we were down and we still won as many nattys as UGA during the timespan. 😂😂😂😂😂

Why are the Dawg fans always the most annoying?

I see Dawg fans as similar to Longhorn fans. They have this sense of entitlement about them. Like the national championship should be theirs. Without doing what it takes to earn it. Not coincidentally, I root against both teams every Saturday in the fall for this reason.

I do think the UGA game will be far from a boat race though. Revenge will be on their minds. But,

Revenge is for suckers - Henry Gondorff

Not to go all negative again, but it'll be a real shame if those two (mainly CZA) coaches hinder us and keep us from going to ATL. Maybe Butch told them to get their sh** together this year.
