I don't recall bringing up any fear factor. Some of you keep that subject going. Makes me wonder. Why do you say the hire has FAIL written all over it? Give me some facts. And we've already gone over the "Saban assistants" thing. Tell me a head coach in all of CFB who has more successful former assistants.

Urban Meyer has unleashed tremendously successful head coaches.

Also....I'm Title IXing your ass. You done told me, but was that enough. Could you have done more to prevent me from doing it (if I in fact did do it, you got no proof).

You'll be hearing from my Lawyer......and Anita. :p

Already heard from him

Very informative article. I learned...

1. AK is a senior, and
2. It's Neyland Stadium Field

For real tho, fun stuff. We are very fortunate these two came back.

Journalism, real journalism, likes facts and does research to present a 'for real' story.

Happy for the pub tho...

I actually think Lovie's a great coach, and got a raw deal in Tampa, but it didn't fit with my stupid joke.

I hope he has success in Illinois.

I forgot Larry Marmie, Walt Harris, and Kippy Brown on that staff.

So yeah, Majors assistants were pretty good.

We all wanted Richt to stay because we matched up well with his style and could beat him. Successful enough to keep his job, yet vulnerable enough for us to take over the series.
Wasn't Mark Richt 10-5 vs Tennessee? :ermm:
Georgia could've done so much better than Smart. A proven and tested head coach could've taken it to unseen heights.
Like who? I've seen someone on here say Dabo Swinney. Do any of you really think he would leave a program like Clemson to come to UGA? Especially given the success he's had there! Mighty flattering of you, but who's to say that Kirby Smart won't take UGA to "unseen heights".
And one more thing. This is a Tennessee board. If you don't like the opinions and responses you're getting, feel free to take the rest of your yapping trolls with you and start your own website.
Is this not a public forum? I've been here since '08. Hardly a troll.

General R. Neyland
Bear Bryant
Johnnie Majors

First three that come to mind...and they had successful assistants too :hi:

Again, 10-5 during the worst era of Tennessee Football in 120 years of playing the game.

Like I said before, everyone knows what Georgia can and should be. Everyone BUT Georgia and their fans obviously. Dabo would have listened. The fact that you think Clemson is a better program says a lot. I think any coach worth a damn would love to coach in the SEC especially in a state with so much talent.

You come in here acting like he's the second coming of Bear Bryant based on some nice words from Saban. No one knows what he will do. He may be great. He may suck. None of us know.

If we're talking all time here, there's really not much of an argument against Hayden Fry at Iowa back in the day.

Bill Snyder has a decent argument for it too, I guess. But you could argue he's a part of Fry's tree.

Richt may have been 10-5, but I will repeat again: we had our worst 5 year stretch in school history and 4 of those years ended in one possession games. 2 of those years had the two worst UT rosters I have ever seen in 25 years as a fan (and I would assume they were worse than many of Majors' teams). Dooley is the worst coach in school history and had very good offensive talent. The record just doesn't tell the whole story.

Once a dope, always a dope. I know you think I am referring to Richt and Smart and they do qualify. However, you... 🤓

1. Richt had two streaks against us. One was in the worst stretch of UT football in a generation. Once Fulmer figured him out, he was easily beatable. Once Butch got enough talent, he was easily beatable.

2. Yes, someone like Dabo, or more likely someone like Fuente.

3. Name me the last coordinator who's first HC gig was at an SEC school and won a NC.

4. You're a troll.

3. Hmmm. Saban? Nope. Chizik? Nope. Meyer? Nope. Miles? Nope. Tubs? (Undefeated) Nope. Phil Fulmer!
