Not sure but found this gem.

So excellent and so accurate.

An Ole Miss official told ESPN on Friday morning that the school was trying to verify whether the alleged text messages between Tunsil and Miller are authentic. The official said Miller also served as a liaison for athletes to receive money from the Ole Miss Opportunity Fund, which is available to students from low-income families to fill the gap for their educational and housing expenses.

It wasn't immediately clear whether using the fund to pay Tunsil's mother's rent and utility bill would be permissible under NCAA rules.

Did not even know there was a such a thing, amazing.

lol. What a steaming pile of BS. I can smell that all the way from here.

I have some doubts about whether the texts are real or not. Barrett Sallee(sp?) mentioned on Twitter that they don't match the format of any messaging app that he knows of. And not that Ole Miss doesn't pay recruits, but I doubt they're texting about it

Laremy Tunsil admits he accepted money from Ole Miss coach

And from our wonderful friends at Bama:

I'm pretty sure it's a common fund. FAMU had one while I was a student. You could get awarded money based on income, merit or borrow funds in form of a short term loan(usually two semesters). Knowning OM it was set up when Ed O began coaching.

Henry is potentially going to be Trent Richardson 2.0 in the league, or best case scenario Brandon Jacobs. Benefitted from playing behind a bonkers OL and never got touched until he had a head full of steam. A very one dimensional running back who is just big. Won't translate to the NFL like it did at Alabama.

Great post.

One point of disagreement. If the Cowboys had drafted him, their o-line coulda hid his flaws. But he ain't going to them so I expect him to be Brandon Jacobs 2.0.

That's the way I see it. If its an "opportunity fund", why is he nickel and dimeing the kid about the amount?

And if such funds are legit and available, I would imagine they would have VERY detailed records kept of what they paid out and for what, hopefully with receipts to back it up. If they don't have records or withhold them, that's an easy enough case even the NCAA should be able to work it.

Please forgive me and permit me to temporarily channel my inner catbone and bruin....

Would/should we be concerned that we beat out ole miss at the last minute for high profile recruits like Kongbo and Richmond?

This is SEC football, and no one is talking. That's all that needs to be said. :shhh:

I'm on board with this

Still can't fathom how Trent Richardson is not a top 5 RB

Lack of vision. Didn't matter in college where Alabama's o-line would blow open 2-3 gaping holes that a mack truck could run through. In the NFL, there's only 1 hole and it closes instantly so you gotta have vision and hit it violently.

Richardson lacked the vision to find the hole. Henry lacks the first step explosiveness to hit the hole hard.

Lol at the ppl on this board whining about unc basketball not getting a severe punishment if you know anything about that case you would understand why they didn't. Sure the ncaa sucks but don't use an academic scandal as the same example of the ncaa turning a blind eye to big money maker programs that give money to recruits and their families to get them to play for their team they are just not the same type cheating to gain an advantage on field/court

He can't cut laterally period. Also our defenders routinely dropped Henry one on one last year. He can't create plays at all.

He's also top heavy. For a guy whose nearly 250 lbs, his thighs and legs are not that thick. It's the main reason guys like JRM who weigh 25 lbs less than him could take him down so easily in the open field one on one.

Yes there is such a thing and it does help the lowest socioeconomic kids.$ is used for clothing and other essentials. Also used for emergency trips in personal matters

From what I know about it the $ would never be paid to anyone but the player themselves and paying for family members rent would be completely against the rules

The rankings are post spring and use injuries*as a factor.
Discount UF front 7 all you like. Brantley and Davis will be projected 1st round picks. Cox will go 2-4 round and Ivie will be a mid round guy. Talent is there. Back ups like CeCe, K Clark, Thomas Holley and Jordan Sherit were all top 150 kids coming out.

I don't see Brantley as a first rounder at all.

Have you looked at what Bama returns?

Tim Williams is unlockable. Guy had 25 tackles and 11 were sacks. Dslvin Tomlinson is getting early 1st round mocks. Allen was a borderline first rounder this draft. Not sure why he decided to return.

Bama still loaded. Have questions about Ole Miss and Mizzou ranking.

I agree with all of this. I will say that Tennessee and Florida also have similar front 7's. I just believe we are stronger at DT and have the best DE in the nation.
