DaRick was realistically a very similar talent to Dez Bryant, but somehow, and it is baffling to even say, with a lesser head on his shoulders. As easy as it is to fault Dez's brain, he is one hell of a competitor and wants to win first, which you can't say for David Rickey.

Dez is the player I always think about when I compare DaRick to. Ironic who his WR coach is.

I understand that, but to definitively say "he will never give up the weed" or "he's NOT and NFL wide receiver", is ridiculous.. You DON'T know that.. None of us do. Only he knows what's in his heart/mind or what he's truly capable of..

It's his opinion.

Yep. I think they go 8-4 and he still gets fired.

09/03/16 vs. Clemson Auburn TBA
09/10/16 vs. Arkansas State Auburn TBA
09/17/16 vs. Texas A&M * Auburn TBA
09/24/16 vs. LSU * Auburn TBA
10/01/16 vs. Louisiana-Monroe (HC) Auburn TBA
10/08/16 at Mississippi State * Starkville, Miss. TBA
10/22/16 vs. Arkansas * Auburn TBA
10/29/16 at Ole Miss * Oxford, Miss. TBA
11/05/16 vs. Vanderbilt * Auburn TBA
11/12/16 at Georgia * Athens, Ga. TBA
11/19/16 vs. Alabama A&M Auburn TBA
11/26/16 at Alabama * Tuscaloosa, Ala. TBA

That skd is brutal. They open and close with the teams that will be 1 and 2 in the first poll. Clemson will score at least 50 on them.

They may struggle to get to 6-6 this year. The Clemson, Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss games are losses for me. The Arky, A&M, and UGA games are toss ups. They will be starting over again next year.

He took a knee with a minute to go in the game with 2 TOs in his pocket against Missouri close to the 40 yard line.

Tried to get fired IMO.

He had unlimited resources to recruit, including some of the greatest alumni in the history of the sport. But that moron made them schedule an appointment to see practice or be around the players.

If Malzahn gets fired and we have a good season, I think there's a very good chance Auburn throws the kitchen sink at Jones. Especially if we beat Bama.

The 5-7, 7-6, 9-4, 10-2/11-1 program trajectory with a complete overhaul of culture, recruiting, academics, and player buy-in is enough to get ADs salivating. Honestly, Auburn won't be the only school that comes knocking if Jones wins big this year.

Last thing on Dooley (my blood pressure is up thinking about this). He completely ignored recruits in Middle Tennessee.

Marlon Walls also said the first thing Dooley said to him was that he hates Memphis kids and won't recruit that city.

IMO, it will not college teams that we will have to worry about with him over the next few years...

Would he really be appealing to NFL teams? He seems more suited to the college game by far.

But if it did happen, I think he would head to Tampa Bay (his favorite team) or Detroit if either of those teams came calling.

Yeah I feel like Butch is more of a guidance and organization coach, and is average when it comes to Xs and Os. I don't think grown men would follow him as devoutly as 18-21 year olds who need help with structure and accountability.

I think he could motivate those guys, but would need good coordinators..

Still has a lot left to prove here though, that that was JMO

Even if Auburn did come calling....

1. I hope UT would pay whatever they needed to keep him.

2. Don't think Butch would take that job venture seeing that he would still have to play Bama every year plus an SEC West schedule. He is smarter than that.

3. Of course this is all contingent on #1....lol.

I lost my mind after that UK loss. It was stupid not to fire him. Tried to give Hart the benefit of the doubt with the Sunseri hire and letting Dools stay even though I wanted him gone. That ended after UF. Possibly the worst SEC head coach ever. He's in that conversation at least.

I drank the Dool-Aid, I am sad to admit. After year one, I though that the outlook was pretty promising. Bray was slinging it all over the field at the end of the year, we came within an eyelash of winning at LSU, got jobbed in the bowl game and seemed to be heading in the right direction. The Kentucky game almost did it for me, too, but I bought into the ridiculous Sunseri hype. The NC State game gave me hope, but deep down, I knew that I was fooling myself. He is definitely the worst coach Tennessee has ever had, for sure.

Why leave for another rebuild when you have a program on the verge of greatness?

Also lateral move

Huge money and access to shady recruiting benefits/advantages. Any disadvantages he sees at Tennessee would be removed for him at Auburn IMO.

That said, I don't think he would leave UT if he has a great season unless the lawsuit situation turned south and it looked like 2016 was going to be his peak here.

This is one thing I hate about vn, you just put pig Howard in the same class as arguably one of the best wr in the nfl. There's more to being a wr than just athleticism.
If you want to go top three wr on each team you can. My point is that pig isn't a nfl wr. He isn't tall enough or fast enough. He's not mentally strong enough to put down the weed either

How high do you have Edelman on your Top WRs in the NFL list? I'm very interested in this..... Would he be productive outside of New England?

He's got an agenda out for Pig. Dude got picked up for a reason. Perfect for the slot if he puts his problems behind him. His change of direction is very good almost elite. He wasn't used well here to me. But he's definitely productive and has very good talent. To act like Edelman is in another class "physically" is flat out crazy. Pig produced in the SEC not at Kent State. I'd love to see Edelman rush for 1,000 yards versus the same level of competition. And like I said before he averages 10 yards a catch. That's with all the funky formations New England runs to rub the WRs open all game.

Butch said he has aged 15 years in the past 3. I don't see him going to Auburn to rebuild another fallen power in the SEC. He seems committed to finishing what he started at UT, and so much of the heavy lifting is done.

If he leaves UT down the road, it seems more likely that he'll leave the SEC and head somewhere like Michigan State. The SEC is murderers row week after week after week. Even Butch's least-talented UT teams whooped Big Ten teams.

Nah Auburn can't pull him. You never leave to be second fiddle to Bama period. Doesn't matter what Auburn does they'll always be second in the state.
