I really think we beat the breaks off of Florida.
I don't think its close.
Perceived weaknesses before fall camp:
-Dobbs' accuracy and downfield passing
-WRs
-LT
-DT depth
-MLB backup (?)
Reports through one week of fall camp to address those concerns:
-Dobbs is slinging it better downfield with more touch (although still not perfect)
-We should have at least 3 very reliable WRs in Smith, Malone, and PW with a couple young guys in there to add even more weapons
-Richmond is getting the upperhand on Kendrick and is doing very well in pass blocking
-Tuttle will be back by week 3 and Kongbo is essentially a hybrid DE/DT
-The only major question mark remaining. Hopefully we hear more about Bituli being a capable backup...or Jumper making HUGE strides that include not committing terrible penalties at the worst time and bouncing off QBs that are smaller than him.
We haven't heard anything about Josh Smith. If anything there has been more talk about Tyler Byrd.
I think by midseason Byrd is the starting slot or Smith holds the ceremonial starting spot but Byrd gets significantly more snaps.
Inevitable. Fall practice always brings injuries. I'd bet money that at least one guy who we expect to contribute in a big way goes down. Happens every year and should be expected. Not the end of the world. We have the depth now.
I haven't heard how bad. Sounds like he's definitely going to RS

Random thing, as much as Doc/Jeff/Heather are almost universally hated, Dearstone would be wise to take a step back and pay Brian Rice whatever he wants.
That show was actually listenable last week while he was in. Back to the same slop this week.

Although I agree with the historical aspect of your post, they are not doing practices as they have in the past to this point. They have made adjustments due to the injury issues of the past. Full bore is coming as they get deeper into it, but has not happened yet.
In past years they had to develop the mental attitude to just compete and to have a survival of the fittest mentality. That led to brutal practices and more injuries along with the shaky S&C results. They've moved past that now because both are integral parts of the roster and program's DNA. Now it's about fine tuning it all to win at a high level. There will be some physical practices to remind them of the battles that are coming. But they are focused on winning the war now.
It's critical to develop safety awareness in larger bodies of water. I would think the Tennessee River would be a good choice.
