That being said

This guy

Seconded... A little info that Dais currently lives in Orlando but has to work on the West Coast due to FOX working responsibilities. During a recent Doug Matthews Saturday morning segment, he sounded like he was getting tired of that grind. Maybe in play as he has previous asst AD experience at Stanford.

I'm sure Butch will be on board with the hire. Butch and the AD are big parts of the puzzle for getting UT back to the top.

Hart did what he was hired to do. A lot of what he did wasn't popular. He did some good things for UT, but he alienated too many people-- more than he should've. I appreciate what Hart accomplished, but I think UT can-- and will-- do better.

Hart will have a bit of a complicated legacy, but overall I think it will be a slightly positive one. In that regard, he is fortunate that Charlie Strong and Mike Gundy said "No" and he ended up with Butch. He is also fortunate that we got hammered by Vandy in 2012; Dooley may have returned in 2013 if we had won that game, or at least made it respectable.

The financial rehabilitation of the AD dept occurred under his watch, but it got a major shot in the arm with SECN money, so difficult to give him complete credit.

Overall, I think he left the AD in better shape than he found it- he just needed help from a couple of breaks that he got.

Basilio jabbering cryptically about an injury. Anybody heard anything?

Brice:

"You know Mizzou's been a punch-line of disaster. Yet UT finds itself in need of a Chancellor, Provost, Communications Director & now an AD?"

Travis Haney:

"Revolving door and lack of leadership glaring meta issues at Tennessee for, really, past 15 or so years."

I don't really think the situations at Mizzou and UT are comparable

Blackburn is the best option. Familiar with this school. He has the connections and always felt he was being groomed to eventually have this spot. He turned down some nice offers as if he knew he had better options coming. he now has experience.

I liked hart and thought he did some great things here. He was basically the clean up guy brought in to make the changes others were scared to make as they didn't want to make people mad. it def seems like TN just wants a clean start from that lawsuit mess.

Yeah...Hart didn't flee us for freaking BAYLOR.

And our president wasn't forced out because of a ludicrous situation where the students commandeered the campus. Really a terrible analogy by brice all the way around.

We have all had enough of UT admin/BOT mistakes. AD selection should not be one of them. Blackburn. No pretend or actual search necessary. Hopefully this was worked out long ago. Every criteria desirable for an elite program is met. As to any supposed naysayers that he spends too much on capital projects at UTC - they must be ignorant of how a capital funding project works as well as how to grow a collegiate sports program.
