On the bright side, we're lucky Richmond has stepped up his game. He was already projected to start at LT, letting Kendrick slide over to RT.

I'm guessing you didn't watch last season.

Kendricks was TERRIBLE. Especially against Florida.

The guy is not a quality OT. Hall was 10x better last year and he was just a true freshmen.

Again, so your saying there's no chance Kendrick improved at all...maybe last year he was better but this year all three guys were battling for two spots it seemed from practice reports. I like you d4h, but you seem to have an agenda against some guys

4 weeks makes him back for Ohio
5 weeks makes him back for Florida
6 weeks makes him back for Georgia

Honestly that isn't awful.

He can be back and fresh probably right as some of the other guys start to get banged up.

A Season ending injury here would have been very bad but I think we can survive this just fine.

I can't remember much about Kendricks play last year. Just know that he has been the talk of coaches since spring about his improvement and consistency so not like his praise just started today. Hall upside is def higher. As long as it's not a long term injury we should be able to get by.

I don't think Kendricks was terrible last season D4H. He didn't seem to play nearly as good as Hall but he was not terrible at all. Thanks!

Watch the Florida game.

He nearly got Dobbs killed that first quarter.

He was beat easily for multiple sacks. Also many pressures that Dobbs had to be like Houdini to escape.

I don't think the kid has the toughness to succeed at this level. If you've ever heard him talk you'll know what I mean. He has a soft voice and personality.

Less rest for them means a greater chance of injury happening.

It does effect the OL. This is the worst news of fall camp by a mile.

On the flip-side in years past this would be just another to add to the injury list.

We've had an exceptionally healthy camp so far, and while this is the position we could least afford it, the team as a whole looks to come out of camp healthier than any time in recent memory

Gotta wonder how effective he will be, though. By all accounts (including his own), he regressed due to not being able to participate in spring camp. Then he was battling Kendrick for the RT spot in fall camp, which means either he still wasn't back to his old self or Kendrick significantly improved (perhaps both).

Now he will miss the rest of camp and about a month of practice.

It's the color of their eyes that he has a problem with.

Season needs to start

I was going to quote him, but didn't want to endure the ire of half the board, so I'll just say it:

His last name doesn't have an "s" on the end of it, Einstein.

Why can't our major fall camp injuries happen to walk-on long snappers? (no offense to the walk-on long snappers on the team)

Kendricks will be fine in the interim, not sure why so many doubting him. He has played good minutes for us in the past, upperclassmen, knows the system, etc.

That is true. I have an agenda against guys who perform poorly.

I would be glad to be wrong about Kendricks.

But as of right now I have zero confidence he can handle the job of RT as well as I think Hall could have.

Good point.

This is just the sort of thing that I knew could happen and why I've been pumping the brakes for the "no excuses" crowd.

We aren't SEC Champ/Playoff caliber yet at DT/OT. It's just the truth. And those are the positions where you have to be elite to make it out of this conference as a champ and to go to the playoffs.

This is where having a veteran TE in Wolf and Rb like Hurd come in handy. If you need to scheme for help your not relying on a crew of freshman like we did 2 yrs ago

Jacob Gilliam would have had meniscus repair surgery at half-time and been back on the field after the second offensive possession of the 3rd quarter.

And that has very, very little to do with his toughness and physicality between the lines.

I agree. Just look at how many years Clemson was knocking on the door before they finally got over the hump. I think winning the SEC, and getting to the playoffs takes more luck than people are accounting for. In most years there are 3-4 teams that are talented enough to win the SEC, and as long as Butch keeps us in those 3-4 teams, like we are this year, the trophies will come. And probably in the years we expect it the least(see OSU)
