Can we quit dogging Kendrick before the season is even here? Before last year's fall camp, everyone expected Marcus Jackson to be our best guard. When he got hurt, people freaked when they heard Weisman was going to get a shot at RG, because up to that point, Weisman hadn't proven to be worthy of a starting spot. Well, clearly he did something right, and he put together an All-SEC 2nd Team type of season. Please chill a bit when it comes to hating on OUR guys.

Good point.

This is just the sort of thing that I knew could happen and why I've been pumping the brakes for the "no excuses" crowd.

We aren't SEC Champ/Playoff caliber yet at DT/OT. It's just the truth. And those are the positions where you have to be elite to make it out of this conference as a champ and to go to the playoffs.

Yep injuries are going to happen every year you just hope it's to positions filled with depth and not holes. Sometimes that is the difference in chanpions and not

I'll just throw this out there and get heat for it but Hall looked like a freshman when we needed him not to look like a freshman last year. Best example last couple of drives for the Alabama game. That being said I believe player get better as the years go by and think he will have a great career here.

Hall isn't an irreplaceable talent.
Kendrick isn't an elite tackle.

Good chance that both can do the job we need, especially if Kendrick progressed in spring and summer.

But it does stress things a bit and makes you wonder what some second team rotations will look like.

We are still good enough to beat every team on our schedule.

Let's get it in 14 days.

It's true that DT/OT are the positions where we are most vulnerable. Still, we're starting the season with the fewest injuries than we've had in years. The coaches have been moving players around all camp. This is far from a nightmare scenario.

Tatum should be able to get mop-up duty blocking for Dormady in at least two games before Florida just in case Hall isn't ready and something happens to Richmond or Kendrick.

Kendrick screaming into the microphone in his next interview would solve all of this.

That was the whole OL...late against Bama. Bama might have had something to do with that.

Depth at DT is the main issue. A healthy Tuttle changes the complexion at DT for me. McKenzie is nearly a sure starter. O'Brien and Vickers bring experience and are very serviceable. Beyond that, we don't have much. It's easy to understand why Kongbo is getting work inside. I wonder how much we'll see of Butcher and Picou?

I forget if it was VQ or 247 but one of them said Picou will be able to give some snaps this yr. I wish they would let Alexis come back now and start getting him ready

Some of my concern there is gone now because we are sliding guys over into DT which you had to think we would do and we have remained healthy there. We are very good at DE but not yet where we need to be at DT. We need about 3 more Khalil/Shy combos on the roster ha ha!

Almost forgot about Alexis Johnson. That's a huge help. From what I understand, he could be back next week.

Hope so. Start getting him ready. Gonna need everyone during that 4 game stretch. Hopefully Shy will be ready to roll by the start of that stretch too.

JMO, as well as a few that have shared this sentiment, but I don't see any way Johnson plays this year. At least not before the BYE. He's not received any coaching from Strip, he missed all of Fall Camp, he hasn't been able to work out with the team, and at this point there are probably 6-7 guys ahead of him on the depth chart at DT (McKenzie, O'Brien, Vickers, Tuttle, Kongbo, Butcher, maybe even Bain). Now if some injuries happen in that DT position group, maybe he's ready for the 2nd half of the season, but I'd bet the plan if he's reinstated soon is for him to redshirt and be ready to contribute for 2017 & 2018. Again, JMO & GBO.

That is true. I have an agenda against guys who perform poorly.

I would be glad to be wrong about Kendricks.

But as of right now I have zero confidence he can handle the job of RT as well as I think Hall could have.

Ok, I understand, but give the guy a chance we, yeah he may have been bad last year, but judging by how this team has improved each season, he may be just as good if not better. At these guys age, they all develop differently. The o e thing that pisses me off about you is if he isn't close to a top 20 pick you give him no chance to succeed
