Well I will agree with you on that. I asked you something the other day that you didn't answer. Are we running the T2 as the base defense? I know that defenses strengths and weaknesses. I saw about a million dissertations on it in Tampa Bay.

Ummmmm Shoop played a lot of man last game and blitzed once he saw the DBs were winning. VT best plays passing were against zone or short slants on Moseley in particular in man. Martin (outside of TWO PLAYS) and Sutton dominated Ford/Rodgers. They literally shut them out. Against Appy State we were in a lot of 2 because they wouldn't go vertical at all. Everything was out/corner/crossing routes. He's playing whatever is needed from what I see. Which is good.

I think it will be hard to beat '14 when we gave up 43 sacks on the year. But you bring up a good point. He's not even getting a clear 2.5 seconds to throw it.

Doug Matthews on Midday 180 highlights I heard:

Offensive line:
-Chance Hall was on track to be the starting RT with Kendrick the starting LT prior to the injury.
-Plan was to ease Richmond into game action
-Not sure if Chance will be back by Florida
-Look for more of Jack and Dylan playing guard/center. Both interchangeable.

Linebacker:
-Jumper is a good player but not good enough for SEC play
-Jumper will start against Ohio, but he insinuated he probably won't play all game
-Look for JRM to slide inside with McDowell starting

Wonder if the coaches will use Bryant on early downs then bring McDowell in on passing downs. Slide JRM over to MLB on third and medium or long. Bryant surely can run though(go watch that kickoff coverages) and he will hit you. Now that's a solution to the problem. Bryant being at Tennessee all this time and can't line a defense up is crazy. I think Jumper is a perfect practice player personally. Kid doesn't take a rep off or miss a responsibility. Just isn't athletic enough to play in the SEC.

I think our guys are doing too many squats. I've been updating my roster from last year to the new year (a little behind, I know), and I've noticed so many of our players are an inch shorter--some even two.

I think they should start with the fake vs Florida. First play of the game do that fake sweep pass to Kamara and throw it down field to Malone. I bet they all bite on the fake and we hit a big completion. Not only is that a good way to start, it also would open up that play the rest of the game because they'll be worried about the fake every time Alvin goes in motion

Butch is probably one of the most genuine coaches out there. He constantly is praised by recruits for his truthfulness and honesty. Some posters simply don't like the current commits or they don't like the on field product right now and want to think that Butch has all these secrets and is providing misleading information. We don't know what goes on in practice or behind the scenes because we suck as fans and our local media sucks at not jumping on our team and coaches at the slightest opportunity. Butch has to be bland and vanilla with his comments because as soon as he goes off script, even slightly, Colton Jumper's dad turns into a Sith Lord with Darth Purpleface as an apprentice.

I know this is a message board and people can say what they want. However, to say Butch is a liar is the most stupid comment I have seen D4H make. He is in the business of making stupid comments and after that little gem brother business is booming!

And if he did come out and tell the answers to everything we are wondering, the same folks would be all, "why's he letting our opponents know exactly what we're doing so they can game plan for it!?!?"
