Someone in the FF posted that Butch said Elliott Berry will get some time at MLB this weekend.
Not true unless I'm the one confused. It was a quote by Butch I believe, that said Evan Berry will play and it was quoted in the midst of some mlb talk. People then ran with it and thought the writer meant to put Elliot Berry but it wasn't. He was just saying that Evan Berry is playing on Saturday, not that Eliot Berry is playing.
Did you see the o e saying we are watching a future hall of famer talking about Sutton.. sheesch, I like him and hes good but pump the brakes
Because he hasn't done it at any other stop? He might be great at it and I merely suggested he move up to OL coach first. Maybe get involved in a phase of the offense and then help draw up some plays. At this moment, Gillespie is further along on that path. All's I know is if you dump DeBord the replacement needs to be a no brainer UPGRADE. You remember our last search? Lots of howling for young hot shots. Gotta get "hot shot" status first.
I don't know that I would want to promote from within. I'm just not sure why you're stating so matter of factly that Gillespie is further along. Gillespie has only coached RBs. Scott has coached TEs, OL, and RBs. He also started as a high school OC. Send like a much better resume to me.
Also not sure why you say "move up" to OL coach. I would think any position to position move is lateral.

Do you really believe that? Rick N. said NOTHING about Jumper. It was a massive jump to that conclusion by Maxwell, the poster who posted about a conversation he had with a friend. This "friend" heard Rick N. on Sirius before the Appy st game talking about some unnamed "program" problems that Butch talked with him about. At no point did the guy ever even reference Jumper or his family, it was a leap to that conclusion by Maxwell...I know crazy things happen in this world, but I will never believe, unless I see some real proof, that Butch Jones would chance his career because somebody gave some money to UT. That is a massive joke.
We all know you can't help it old manOL is a bigger position group than TEs...practically a coordinator position in itself. Gillespie has been involved in game planning since last season. I believe that trumps high school OC experience. Fact is, we promote either to OC, and it will be seen as a gamble... Moreso than hiring an up and coming OC from another program. I'd give it full support, per usual but it wouldn't be viewed as a home run hire by the usual suspects. Used to be our program's modus operandi...brought us stalwarts such as Chavis and Cutcliffe... But also some that struggled learning the job, like Randy Sanders. Unless we hired a top OC from another top program, we'll have to endure whining misery...color me not eager. Trying to weigh pros and cons for each name thrown out on here , so these are JMO. Sorry if they don't come across that way. :hi:
Mike Debord was brought in to run Butch Jones offense.
If we were to replace Debord and promote from within, expect the same offense. I seriously doubt we would promote from within if we had to make a move on Debord. I don't think it will come to that. I think we could be searching for a new line coach but I think Debord is here to stay. I'm fine with that. He is just the new vn whipping boy in place of Azzani this year IYAM.
I think most of our offensive woes stem from having an o line that struggles in pass protection. Dobbs accuracy isn't the best but this isn't the NFL. Having no time to throw and not being able to step up into the pocket means our passing game struggles and the offense as a whole suffers from it.
JMO.
