No it's not clear to me. We destroyed oklanhoma on defense. This board acts like players don't give up plays and still play well in a game. If the O got 1st down jumper and defense would have been Heros

It's next man up. Jansek, Thig, jones, and now Shoop have judged 53 the next best option. That's a hell of a lot better than message board posters acting like we all of sudden can't win now because the coaches are stubborn and playing the wrong guy

MLB becomes less of an issue if guys are getting hit at the line or the QB is pressured into making bad throws.

DL needs to own the line of scrimmage.

Very true, Tuttle dominating at the LOS opens up a lot for the defense to do work.

I'll still call for the Vols win. But my confidence took a fairly big hit with the Fort update about LB earlier.

I am riding with 53! Unless you think The coaches want to lose then he has beaten out a lot of highly ranked recruits for a job. I love a good underdog story.

Until that underdog gives up two or more big plays in the middle of the field because he bit on the same fake multiple times or misses an open field tackle or two that a more athletic guy wouldn't. A good offensive coach will take advantage of him like they have.

JAllen do you have any news on this LB issue? In your opinion, even if Jumper struggles with Ohio do you see coaches being stubborn and sticking with him results be damned? Since apparently no one else can line up the defense.

I'm not equating the two by any means, but go back through the first two games and count the number of tackles JRM has missed.

This whole defense has been missing tackles so far this year. I'm hoping the correct that soon.

You are missing the point of what I am saying.

Colton Jumper started over DK a year ago. Fans groaned that there had to be a better option than the slow walk on. Guess what? There was a freshman all American waiting to step in.

Here we are again with the same guy at MLB due to injury. I am not buying that he is the best option again this year.

Yes, everyone else on D misses tackles or gets beat or busts coverage.

Difference is they come back to make an excellent play, a TFL, a sack, a PBU.

What does Jumper do? Ummm, nothing. Just continues to miss tackles. I keep waiting for him to make a play.

He looks like a chicken with his head cut off running around out there.

Don't act like coach Mac won't shred the middle with him logging heavy snaps. Appreciate anyone that straps up but dude just isn't an SEC player. A huge LIABILITY and everyone has seen it. I guess he can line everybody up though so everyone can do their job except him:dunno:

If he's as good as everyone thinks then he'll scheme around the deficiency. That's what the best do. Play to your strengths, scheme around your weaknesses.

Sure some sloppy play at times with technique but don't even compare the two of them. JRM is the best backer we've had in a long time imo. DKJR will probably pass him up before he leaves as well.
