You are missing the point of what I am saying.

Colton Jumper started over DK a year ago. Fans groaned that there had to be a better option than the slow walk on. Guess what? There was a freshman all American waiting to step in.

Here we are again with the same guy at MLB due to injury. I am not buying that he is the best option again this year.

A month of practice for a freshmen means a lot more to me that you apparently especially when playing offenses like Bowling Green and Oklahoma

And maybe he looked like an all American when he stepped in because the staff made the determination he was ready. Y'all know that they do look at all of the options in practice, right?

Jumper is not the best option. If Kirkland sits into mid October I would bet dollars to doughnuts that Jumper isn't starting by the time he returns.

If he's as good as everyone thinks then he'll scheme around the deficiency. That's what the best do. Play to your strengths, scheme around your weaknesses.

Agreed. DK Jr being out is a huge loss, no doubt, but if our defense suddenly looks like Sunseri took the reins simply because we're down one player, then Shoop himself is a terrible, terrible DC.

Plus, I don't buy that idea that Butch, Shoop, and Thig are going to let Jumper get torched over and over (if that happens) and stubbornly refuse to make a change.

When Shoop first arrived and surveyed the roster, I'm sure his biggest and most immediate concern was MLB depth, seeing as how we apparently have only one capable player there.

He would be committing coaching malpractice if he made it to week 3 of the regular season after 9 months on the job and had no contingency plan for Kirkland's absence.

Still have another week before we start the four game gauntlet.

Yes, thankfully. High ankle sprains can linger and are easily aggravated. I'm a bit surprised we're not resting them all against Ohio. The score doesn't really doesn't matter as long as we get the W and stay as healthy as possible for SEC play.

You're giving our staff way too much credit. They've already shown they're incompetent when it comes to a lot of different things.

Kirkland played against Bowling Green last year and played early. I believe he made the play on the QB that caused the fumble into the endzone, but they ruled the play dead.

I think you will see them play multiple guys. Jumper may get the start, but it doesn't mean he is playing the whole game.

Yep, must be "incompetent" to turn a program around. They have recruited at a high level and increased wins every single year.

We may not always agree with some of the decisions they make. But, incompetent? Hardly. Ridiculous comment if you ask me.

Why, when there are fast, athletic scholarship guys the HC recruited just waiting for their number to be called? Why, when everybody has seen the incompetence in the several games he has significant playing time?

Oh god, even the Recruiting Forum looks terrible.

So.... You know I think Jumper will be great. This whole Sarge to MLB plan should be burned and buried in the backyard like the steaming pile that it is! Thanks!!

Thanks bro! I am the size of an MLB. I run a 14 flat 2mile. Not sure what that translates to but when all 227lbs of this gym rat gets moving, I'm messing someone up!

Maybe Coleman's ankle isn't that bad. Obviously, DKJ and Josh are out, as is Foreman. So maybe we pretty much are resting everyone. At least I hope we are...and I still hope we can start fast and try to get this game put away before the 4th quarter.

He's a great recruiter but an incompetent football coach.

Let's keep it real. Butch has things he is not the best at but I think he is a great fit for UT and meets the criteria of what it takes to win big at this program. He has brought this program from the ashes to top 15 and rising.

Sure he makes mistakes but I'm glad he was hired cause he has done a great job rebuilding this thing which is what we had to have when he was hired.
