Most bowls aren't slotted based on success anymore. It's about money. Just like when we were the benefit of the TaxSlayer Bowl two years ago at 6-6. The system isn't great, but most people don't care after the 4 playoff teams are set.

You're right-- it is about money... but I don't buy that UK travels better than UT, will spend more $$ than UT or can generate higher ratings than UT.

And honestly, people care a great deal about bowl pecking order. Coaches get an added bonus for taking a team to an NY6 bowl. Look how upset UT fans were over losing the Sugar. And who wouldn't rather go to the Citrus than the MCB? And we were thrilled to leapfrog to a Florida bowl the past two years because it was widely viewed as a sign of upward progress. So now we're on the flip side. I get being positive, but fans and recruits do notice these things and attach meaning.

Not really keeping up with individual recruit threads, but isn't Jones in home with Trey Smith today?

If he's there, a 3 PM team meeting would have been almost logistically impossible.

Since we aren't getting a new coach, a major staff overhaul would be the closest thing to try and chance my current opinion. (Would require upgrades). Bowl win won't... Plus I doubt we get a chance with a team like Wisconsin. Bowl game meant more last year.

None of those teams have a better record than UT and we beat two of them head-to-head. The perception of UT has turned.

I get the potential GT and VT matchup issues, but we could go. They took UGA in 2014 and 2016. It's the Outback that won't take teams 2 out of 3 years.

He has been saying for 6 weeks or so that Jones wants to restart his clock elsewhere. Basilio is very adamant that he believes Butch will bounce if given the opportunity.

Basilio is a fan and would never do anything to damage the program. He wouldn't put a tweet like that out there if he didn't have some info.

I just don't think he tweeted that. Hacked or someone gained access to his phone/computer.

UGA played in the Taxslayer in 2014 and 2016, so it's the Outback that won't take the same team in 2 out of 3 years. The Taxslayer Bowl passed on UT. Auburn and UF will get the Sugar and Citrus, so UK will probably get the Taxslayer.

Didn't we play in the outback bowl back to back (penn State and Wisconsin) in 2006 and 2007?

Curious as to what you guys think will be big improvements over the current coaching staff? Shoop isn't going anywhere, and Debord didn't seem to be the problem after Hurd left. So are we thinking major upgrades at position coaches?

For me the position coach upgrades have not need but have to be Martinez and Mahoney those 2 groups have been pretty bad since they have been here
