12 TOs in 2015

Who was the HC in that year?

2013 - 14 fumbles (7 lost)
2014 - 18 fumbles (8 lost)
2015 - 20 fumbles (7 lost)
2016 - 28 fumbles (13 lost) *Does not include upcoming bowl game

Fumbles have increased every year but this year there was definitely a spike in both fumbles and fumbles lost. It is a trend that needs to be reversed in a dramatic way if we plan to have a successful season next year. We had some real head scratchers this year and the A&M game is one of the worst IMO. We have been a fairly disciplined football team under CBJ so far and I think, personally, the Preston Williams and Jalen Hurd locker room issues played a bigger role than many will care to admit. I will admit that CBJ should've shut that garbage down and made it clear who runs the show but when you are dealing with two 5* players that you need on the field I can see how you capitulate and make decisions contrary to what you would normally. The locker room has got to be united and playing for each other, the coaches, and the fans. If players are playing for themselves then no team will overachieve.

Also, we're going to see some guys penciled in as contributors transfer this off-season. Butch has proven his attitude often runs good players off. Guys like Tyler Byrd and Shy Tuttle come to mind.

Zero basis for this asinine post.

When has he ran off a freshman starter or a player who has been an impact player from day one, arguably the best player at his position?

Offense scares me more than the defense. Haven't bought into the Dormady hype and Gitmo will be a typical freshman QB. Kelly is a good RB but we have 0 depth there. WR's are good assuming Malone stays but they can't do much if they can't get the ball. TE has been hit or miss in Butch's 4 years, so who knows what we get there. I assume Wolf will be solid. OL has consistently underperformed in this offense and I'm not going to fall for the "another year of experience has to help" line again. Hopefully a coaching change is made in that area.

OL looked better because Josh broke 540 tackles this season.

I am worried about it all..

O line run blocks just fine. It's the pass pro that really needs to improve.

Hoping a new line coach and a new strength coach can help us in that area.

That's what I just don't get. With how disciplined Butch's teams have been, with all the returning experience we had...what in the world happened? It's like people were pointing out -- we were off even without all the injuries, right from the first game. What in the world happened? We've always known Butch is a middling in-game coach, that he doesn't always play the right personnel, that he went and hired a swim coach to run his offense; and yet we never had to wonder whether the team was tough or disciplined until this year.

It's just so disappointing because it looked like when we had finally overcome so many of our problems, a whole host of new problems rose up to take their place.

I truly think the turmoil caused by Jalen Hurd and Preston Williams was a huge cloud over the locker room. I don't know what happened with those two but they played a huge part in throwing our team out of synch. Butch should have corrected it faster but if he had tossed them off the team everyone would be screaming that Butch was running our 5*s off and that we would suck again. I think we would've been better off to lose them both earlier in the season and try to unify the locker room after the UGA game.

Hurd, Jalen. Williams, Preston. Helm, Daniel. Wharton, Victor. Hendrix, Dewayne.

There are more.

Interesting.

The red shirt year for Gitmo won't make him typical.

Dobbs' ability to break tackles from the QB position won't be matched for a long time. He was incredible at making something out of nothing with his feet, or running through tackles down field.

Have you seen film of Guarantano? He will rush for many yards for the Vols.

He made the OL look way better than they actually are.

He did in some ways, and he didn't in others. I have posted in detail about Dobb's biggest flaw, which was moving backwards out of the pocket during pass plays. On numerous occasions, especially earlier in the year he would back up straight into DE's coming off the edge instead of stepping up into the pocket giving himself another second to make a throw. Many sacks this year were his fault and not OL's.

And to be clear, I am a huge Dobb's fan.

Typical frosh QB as in Jameis Winston or Johnny Manziel? or typical like Jalen Hurts or Josh Dobbs or JT Barret or Brad Kaaaya?

The "one percent daily improvement" mantra yielded better results than "find the 25 points." Butch needs help with his team goals and slogans coordination.
