Indiana gave him a raise that more than doubled his salary and extended him to 2021 in JANUARY OF THIS YEAR

I found video footage of their AD.

I am thinking that maybe a 1.05% improvement per day is the way to go in 2017. Drop the idea of trying to close the margin of losses during the regular season and just get better with .05% more urgency.

I think others have mentioned it, but this season was a direct correlation to Butch's aversion to risk. We know he has, in the past, made decisions directly related to reducing risk (like calling for bubble screens and short passes to reduce turnovers).

I heard Swain talking about Butch's decision not to have his WRs and DBs do any 7-on-7 to prevent injury, and it seems like I remember there was an emphasis on reducing injuries in camp by using less contact, etc.

Couple the risk aversion with whatever is going on with strength & conditioning and we have a recipe for disaster. What happened to practicing so hard that games were fun? I agree with posters above that turnovers are a direct correlation. And we will never forget Coleman Thomas, injured or not, getting completely owned by a 280 lb DT.

Hopefully we go back to proven strategies and a new strength staff will make a significant change.

I live a couple minutes away from 5 points pizza and eat there at least once a week or so. Best Pizza in town.

Also Pharmacy Burger and Pepperfire Hot Chicken are worth the wait to go to as well.

Burger Up is a nice alternative to Pharmacy. Definitely like the atmosphere better there but, BU might have the better burger.

Former Indiana player told ESPN on Thursday that he & at least 5 other IU players interviewed about Wilson's treatment of players

I'll believe it when I see it on Hef but in terms of salary it could work. Considering most coordinators get paid in millions for teams wanting to win big. So you take Mahoneys money plus take into consideration the difference in what Debord makes compared to others. I don't see us spending like that though.

Hef is getting paid a buyout so might would come cheaper than usual

If we hire a top OC, which will be around Shoop's pay grade, we don't need DeBord. We can hire a better OL coach for less than $600K and have upgrades all around. DeBord needs to retire (or be retired) and let the new OC run the offense without being hampered by CBJ's/DeBord's interference. That won't work out any better for OC than it did for DC (Shoop).

Please tell me what I just read about Butch and his agent actually asking for a raise and extension after the Vandy game is BS..... if true, this guy either is the most clueless egotistical idiot, or they are forcing UT's hand to part ways with him so he can go get another job and try and save face by not looking like he left on his own....

I like Applewhite personally. His offense seemed much better than Helfrich's this year. I guess we probably couldn't go wrong with either but anybody named Major is badazz IMO.

Meh at previous stops. Odds on us hearing about Saban firing him, from Bama posters?
