One could name 20+ coaches or coordinators readily available who would be better options, but opinions are opinions. The fact that he received no major interest from a non-Power 5 school that can easily pay his buyout/demands is telling.
We want to win football games not life games. If a kids a good kid great. If not but he can play that's ok too.Building good citizens is great as long as you win a Championship every now and then also
Not sure why that is telling. Butch knows he isn't getting fired. He would have to give up some money to get a deal from someone else. A non-power 5 is not paying that buyout.
It's all about timing. Whether people like it or not, right now, it's probably the best option for both sides for him to return. There are a bunch of variables that go into it.
This. Just because it said he received"no interest" doesn't mean nobody wants him. There are probably only 30-35 schools who could potentially afford him and most of them have coaches in place. So the real list is probably 2-3 schools with open jobs that he would financially fit for.
1. Houston
2. Oregon
3. LSU- already hired a coach
4. Texas- already hired a coach
The way I view it is just because to openings that had the financial where-with-all to him and they are not, has no true bearing on his value in the CFB world.
