This season was disappointing for sure but people are dissecting and talking about it like we just lost 9 games. We are much closer to greatness than unending mediocrity at the moment IMO. But changes do need to happen in order to get there.

You guys realize this story ran on 247, right? Some of you are acting like it ran in the Washington Post under Carl Bernstein's byline. It's not investigative journalism; it's an opinion piece on an online sports site. They're not trying to win a Pulitzer; they're trying to get clicks for ad revenue. Let it die.

I received an alert from CBS sports that said "an in depth and insider look into the problems at Tennessee." I clicked it and read the article.

I'd say Notre Dame, Oregon and Texas had some serious problems this year. We had some disappointments to be sure, but with how scathing that 247 article is, it actually is quite impressive that we finished 8-4, whipped Florida and dominated a very solid Virginia Tech team on a really big stage. Heck, the Mizzou and Kentucky wins look mighty impressive - those teams had quality wins in the last week and we spotted them each 700 yards and whipped them up and down the field.

S&C stunk for sure, but do we think the 10+ players missing out of our defensive two-deep played a small role in us not meeting expectations?

The more of these negateer articles and posts I see about the desperate and dire state of our program, the more impressed I am by our final record and the fact that we just landed the #1 prospect in the country.

I personally think our problems are fixable, and fixable in the very near future. If not next year with Jones than the following year with the new guy.

I think you have to assume the injuries were a result of the bad S&C program.

So were Garrett's.

4.5 of his 8.5 sacks came against UTSA. He had only 3 sacks in all of SEC play. Garrett can run faster and jump higher but when it comes to on field production, Barnett is just better.

In 18 SEC games, Barnett has 21 sacks and 32.5 tackles for loss.

In 18 SEC games, Garrett has 11 sacks and 17 tackles for loss.
