Some rumblings on Twitter about another big committ soon.

I would assume it's a either Akers or Corker.

I'm really liking the way this class is shaping up. I know Bruin is out there though, so I'll just say I agree that the early marginal commitments is completely unnecessary tactic from Jones. It's almost like they don't trust how good they are at recruiting.

I disagree, sometimes those "marginal commitments" develop into something good. Look at the OL from WV.

Doubt it. He will have a five star QB and plenty of talent to work with in an easy conference

If lane couldnt do it at USC he is never gonna do it. This next stint at Houston will prove what most of us know, he is not a good head coach.

I'll say one thing, Kiffin has the recruiting prowess to be able to continue the recent trend of Houston area athletes staying home.

I think it's tough for Kiffin to manage an entire program. If the responsibilities were just the football team and coaches, he may do fine. However, I don't think he sees the bigger picture very well.

He has the easiest and one of the best jobs in the country. I'd milk the gig he has in Tuscaloosa as long as possible. He can call an offense, and he doesn't need to be a world beater with a Saban team/defense.

I think the staff accepts commits every year from guys they know there is a minuscule chance will end up signing. That's the practice I'm talking about. Jerome Dews? Come on now.

Travis Haney's response to the criticism of his article...

That's a really long-winded way of saying 'don't ask for credible evidence or sources that can be verified just shut up and trust me.' Also, how can he say 'we didn't know what we'd find' and follow that up with 'we knew it would be divisive.' Well which is it? You went into it not knowing what you'd find and even being open to finding nothing that would generate interest or you went into it expecting to create a divisive article that you knew would generate revenue?

If it happens to be Akers I will need a heads ups so I can buy some depends cause I will be peeing all over myself. Him and Chandler in the backfield? WOOOOHOOOO!

Well put.

He was under sanctions at USC. How many less scholarship? 10 per year?

I will give you that he lost 10 a year for 3 years but wouldn't that give you more of a leash?

I still don't think he is a good head coach but we shall see. Its not easy recruiting Houston I do like how he will have to go head to head with Orgeron.

Clearly the "we didn't know what we'd find" is the before and the "we knew it would be divisive" is the after.

I agree that the use of unnamed sources is crap though. Basically that's asking everyone to trust the journalist isn't just a liar. Society has plenty of liars out there, some of them have to be journalists.

Or, alternatively, he went into it wanting to write an article on the state of the program but couldn't find anyone to speak positively about the current situation besides Daniel Hood. I know it's easier to think that this was a conspiracy and a hit job, but it flat out wasn't.

The real problem is there aren't enough people over there who want to stand up for Butch and Co. Not good.
