More evaluations more changes. Just watched some tape on Marcus Maye. He's better than teammate Keanu Neal who went in the first round and is killing it right now for the Falcons. Also got a chance to study Christian McCaffrey. He should be a good player in the NFL. A poor man's Alvin Kamara IMO.

Here's my new top 20:

1. DE Myles Garrett (Texas A&M)
2. DL Solomon Thomas (Stanford)
3. CB Cam Sutton (Tennessee)
4. WR Corey Davis (Western Michigan)
5. RB Alvin Kamara (Tennessee)
6. RB Joe Mixon (Oklahoma)
7. QB Joshua Dobbs (Tennessee)
8. QB Brad Kaaya (Miami)
9. CB Jourdan Lewis (Michigan)
10. DE Charles Harris (Missouri)
11. DT Caleb Brantley (Florida)
12. S Eddie Jackson (Alabama)
13. CB Marlon Humphrey (Alabama)
14. TE Evan Engram (Ole Miss)
15. RB Christian McCaffrey (Stanford)
16. RB Leonard Fournette (LSU)
17. S Marcus Maye (Florida)
18. DL Malik McDowell (Michigan State)
19. S Jamal Adams (LSU)
20. LB Jarrad Davis (Florida)

This draft is strong at RB, DL, and DB. Weak at OT and WR.

Honest question... Is this a joke?

How is pointing out that Jones is now reduced to competing for scraps necessarily bashing him? Is the truth bashing?

Although recruiting this year, overall, has been disappointing, I'd say "competing for scraps" is an exercise in histrionics.

But I don't want to interrupt your usual activity:

Interesting. His film is really good and against good competition. Shows really good footwork and good ball skills. Wouldn't mind adding him to the class

i agree. one of the better prospects left at WR for us. Visiting UCLA next week also. Kivon Bennett's teammate i believe. His film is really nice.

With several kids possibly having issues qualifying, would CBJ take extra commits just in case? If all ended up qualifying, how would the extra commits be handled? Would they just count against the 2018 class?

On the whole, yes. As for following every tweet and rumor from the second cousin twice removed of the former coach of a recruit's older brother... guilty as charged.

That said, when did Conliffe commit? The last quote from Hubbs on Conliffe's thread sounded as if there's a good chance he's a Vol.... if he doesn't fall in love with UF or become a Bama priority.

So yeah... it sounds like Hubbs thinks that Jones' best chance at landing Conliffe is if Bama brushes him off.

Never said he committed. (Notice how guys like this create bs out of thin air to support their baseless arguments) But that was the player you were referring to when you chose the word 'scraps' to refer to a 4 star defensive tackle. For someone who spends so much time and energy wanting to be 'right' on the Internet, I think I would let this one go. Going to be hard to lawyer your way out of your previous foolish comment.

No Quincy Wilson or Malik hooker?

Gotta see Quincy Wilson run the 40. Physical corner but he looks kind of slow. I wouldn't be surprised if he runs in the 4.6 range and has stock plummet.

Malik Hooker looks kinda small and I don't like him against the run. I want to see how he measures. I'm not as high on him as most who have him as a top 5-10 prospect. He has great instincts but I want to his if he measures up to what a top 10 pick is supposed to look like.

And just like that, Barnett is gone...

And just like that, Barnett is gone...

As I watch more tape and new names get into the top 20, its natural for guys at the bottom to fall out.

I've consistently said that Barnett is a late 1st round type player in value. My NFL comparison for him is a blend of Michael Bennett (Seahawks) and Charles Johnson (Panthers). That's a real good player who will start for a long time in the NFL. But its not a superstar.

And with the 2017 draft being one of the strongest in the last 20 years, its highly unlikely he finishes in my top 20 overall prospects.

Hey guys I haven't posted anything recently because we've been getting settled at home (our furnace was out when we got home Monday night so we didn't have heat). Baby Rowan had a successful seven-hour pull through surgery to address his short segment Hirschsprung's Disease last week, and he shouldn't have many long term issues. I wanted to thank you guys for the thoughts and prayers.

Awesome! Five star post.

Good thing you do this for fun...and you're still overpaid.

I don't believe Hellfrich was ever a realistic option. I think Butch wanted ut to appear that way. I think Scott has been groomed for it all year.

Nah..that's where I disagree. I really think Butch tried to make that happen. I can see why he would want a longer and more firm commitment from Helfrich, and why that would be a sticking point. I agree Scott was a plan B.

Remember when Bama fans thought their team could beat the Browns?!?! Remember when they said that an all star east team couldn't compete with them?! Remember when they said they had the best team of all time? 😂😂😂😂😂

D4H,

Perhaps you should start a thread for these daily/periodic updates. That way the majority at large doesn't have to read pages of opinion in regards to the validation of your player analysis unless they choose to do so?

I agree with this. Give it it's own thread. We can title the thread "Had a bad day? Read this for a good laugh to pick up your spirits!"
