Should be against board rules imo.

Here's the quote so he doesn't get the clicks

“I think he’s been benefitted from that (AD change),” one SEC assistant
told us. “If they had a stable AD, I bet he’s gone. I know a lot of coaches
who feel like they’re kind of taking it easy on him. It’s been there for
the taking for them. They never took it.”

Good thinking. Yeah I can see how this has peeps in a huge uproar. Poor journalism on his part. And my thinking on the matter is this: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

If you're in the media you should be more responsible in your reporting than what Haney has been.

The problem with the media today is that responsibility/good integrity is no longer what most seek. Those peeps are willing to try anything to get the next big scoop.

What's your point with these comments? We should just accept it and be good with clowns constantly throwing out "hit pieces" against us?

My point is that these "hit pieces" are more like "baby chick peck pieces" nobody cares. Well some do, the 12 on here and whoever gives them money. When you give them attention and rant and rave it gives them attention and that is what they are really after. Haney is a toddler, quit treating him like Darth Vader.

The 247 drama has been the best story of the new year. I was really disappointed the other day when the athletic director news broke less than an hour after John Brice announced he was leaving.

The bolded is what they are really after. Not attention. Attention that results in less money and customers is not an ideal business plan under any circumstance.

Customers care enough to take action that affects the bottom line of 247. UT cares enough to limit access (allegedly) which will create less original content which creates less competitive advantage. 247 cares enough to respond and the UT site cares enough to separate themselves from the buffoonery.

I wonder how many customers they have actually lost and really how many because of Haney and not because they can just come over here and see it for free.

That latter has been true for a decade so a sudden loss of subscriptions since December is easy to determine. They've lost enough to take some sort of action.

I'm sure Haney cost them some subs but I think the bigger issue for them is access being restricted. Sounds like their sources have dried up on the Hill.

You make some good points here but also you can't overlook the power of perception. I guarantee you that every team in the SEC will use that Haney article against us in the next 12 months if they haven't already.

Other schools don't have to fight this kind of crap as much as we do. Glad to see UT finally stepping up and squashing some of this crap.

Pretty quickly too. December...several unknown sources on the hill. March....one unknown source from another SEC school.

By june Haney will be quoting unknown sources from Spain about the state of UT Football...lol
