What really good RB have you really had to wait that long to show promise? Not be a complete back but to show potential.
In our history? What's the sample size. Most have had the OPPORTUNITY to show it early. Maybe Tony Thompson? Not predicting great things for this kid, but writing him off because he didn't dominate in the few snaps available is snap judgement in liquid form. Hurd doesn't self-destruct last season and what would be the ruling sentiment on Kelly? Hasn't shown anything threads galore. Truth's out there if you can wait for it.
I wanna see more we shouldn't.Of course, when it happens it is upsetting, but I always include an unexpected loss in my predictions for the season. Every team loses at least one game they shouldn't every year.
From Bama, to Ohio State, to this year's CFB Champ Clemson; every team loses to someone they shouldn't and I believe it would be acceptable to anticipate the same from us. If Butch was capable of keeping UT from losing any games we weren't supposed to every year, that would make him the best coach in CFB by far.
For those reasons, I predict a 9-3 season. We lose to Bama, we lose a toss-up game (UGA, LSU), and we lose one we shouldn't (UK, USC, Gtech).
Ok.I get that you can't predict how Fils-Aime career will play out with 100% certainty at this point. But does anyone think he will ever crack 100 carries in a season? 75? 50? IMO he will prove to be a depth player for us and will definitely have a role, but barring significant injuries I don't think he ever approaches 100 carries or anything like 600-800 yards in a season, JMO.
You seem to be stuck on defending him no matter what. Do you predict he's going to be an impact player for us? I'm saying no, what's your opinion?
Here is the Dawgs. Interesting to look at. Their D talent is not that imposing surprisingly, but their starting unit on D is very experienced. Both back up units are not surprisingly young but the offense has a lot of talent.

It sounds like his opinion is it's way too early.
Several are writing him off 14 carries into his career. 14.
He was undersized coming in and needed to add weight. He's also been dealing with nagging injuries. He's not saying he's going to be a stud, just that he's not ready to say he's a bust after a minuscule sample size.
Several of us did...by your current criteria, you would have meh'd it. Had 4.1 yards per carry...same as Fil-Aime. But had 40 attempts vs 14. Stay consistent San Diego.

My thoughts on CFA is that he may need more time with Rock to get to an SEC caliber level. I just saw an average back during the spring game. On the small side. We will see. I hope he is a valuable contributer and helps us win. I am pulling for him.
