They don't scare me. We are just as talented at OL and DL as Bama, and we have a better QB, no matter who our starter is. Bama has a guy who can't pass as their QB
I mostly use Rivals. Boom Williams was a 4 star, but he left. Snell was a 3 star, ranked 58th in Ohio with not many offers.
There was a big divide with Elam. Rivals had him as a 3 star, and I think 247 had him as a 5 star.
I disagree on OL. Maybe we see miraculous improvement, but they've been below average to awful for multiple years. I know we had a horrible year in 2011 (?) from an all underclassmen OL, but that was just one year. Every single year under Butch has been below average at OL, and I won't give us the edge there until I see it.
Our DL should be nasty if Tuttle Kmac Phillips Taylor all live up to their billing, I'll take them on paper over just about anyone in the country.

Rock has become a “rock star” for Tennessee this summer, as the team has truly bought into the new S&C coordinator. Sure, the happy talk of S&C happens every offseason, but several players have indicated that vibe in the training room this year is different.
As senior Jashon Robertson said, “There’s a significant amount of trust that comes with all that NFL experience. You can’t ignore longevity.” Rock’s resume bought him some immediate currency with the team, but his personality and ability connect with each player has really made the difference. As senior DT Kendall Vickers said, “no one on the team wants to let him down.” We’ll have stories on both Roberson and Vickers next week. Both seniors weight around 295 pounds, with Vickers saying he’s at the lowest body fat number he’s ever been at. The much-injured Robertson also said he’s never felt healthier.
The offseason weight room alphas have apparently been the OL/DL. Roberson, Vickers, as well as Kahlil McKenzie, Jonathan Kongbo and Darrell Taylor have emerged as real leaders this summer. That could pay huge dividends for Tennessee, as both the OL and DL must spearhead the team if Tennessee hopes to compete for the SEC East in 2017.
In terms of other guys showcasing well this offseason, we’ve heard freshmen Trey Smith and K’Rojhn Calbert have impressed, while Marcus Tatum, Quay Piccu and Alexis Johnson continue to work towards increased roles in 2017.
You have consistently shown that you're about 50/50 on your projections, at best. Pretty much no one else cares who the players are that lead us to success except you and D4H "expect JG to own the starting job". So, I reiterate the consensus of the board, whoever helps us win, whether that be QD or JG, I hope they crush. If you would please let go of your racial bias, it would make the world a better place. Many have said QD has equal, or better, mobility than JG, yet you continue to push this narrative that JG has the advantage. Please just stop. QD has proven, thus far, that he has a better arm, more mobility and a stronger grasp of the offense than JG. If JG proves to be the better player this year, that is awesome, I am behind him 100%, but at this point QD seems to be better. Just let it go man.I got a feeling #2 will make some plays where you'll have no choice but to keep him in. Kid is special running the ball. Kaepernick special with his legs...... 😎😎😎😎
