Hope those nuggets at the end about Johnson and Picou are good signs and not just offseason fluff.

The ability or inability of those two guys to contribute for us at a high level at DT this year will be one of the deciding factors in whether we see a defense we can be proud of in 2017 or not.

Not sure why you think that. He averaged over 7 YPC last year as a sophomore, had over 1,000 yards on less than 150 carries

I disagree on OL. Maybe we see miraculous improvement, but they've been below average to awful for multiple years. I know we had a horrible year in 2011 (?) from an all underclassmen OL, but that was just one year. Every single year under Butch has been below average at OL, and I won't give us the edge there until I see it.

Our DL should be nasty if Tuttle Kmac Phillips Taylor all live up to their billing, I'll take them on paper over just about anyone in the country.

If Picou & Johnson along with Sapp can make major contributions, then the defense could see big improvement on the from 7.

You have consistently shown that you're about 50/50 on your projections, at best. Pretty much no one else cares who the players are that lead us to success except you and D4H "expect JG to own the starting job". So, I reiterate the consensus of the board, whoever helps us win, whether that be QD or JG, I hope they crush. If you would please let go of your racial bias, it would make the world a better place. Many have said QD has equal, or better, mobility than JG, yet you continue to push this narrative that JG has the advantage. Please just stop. QD has proven, thus far, that he has a better arm, more mobility and a stronger grasp of the offense than JG. If JG proves to be the better player this year, that is awesome, I am behind him 100%, but at this point QD seems to be better. Just let it go man.

Personally I like it when the press underestimates UT and overestimates UGA and FL. We play much better with a chip on our shoulder and with something to prove. And we have a lot to prove this up coming season.

I have some friends who are UGA fans and they all are pretty unimpressed with Chaney and believe he will be the downfall of their team this year. They believe (rightly as his years at UT proved) his play calling is to basic and he doesn't adjust well during the game.

Thank you. That narrative should have died then. But some on here just don't want to let it go despite the evidence.

I go back to what I posted that is available to anybody who is willing to spend a few minutes to look. 36 points per game of offense. #2 to Bama in the SEC. #24 in the nation. #37 in rushing at 5.16 YPC. That cannot be done with a mid or below O-line in real football. Maybe in somebody's fantasy league, but especially not in SEC football.

he was all in on TN the last two years, and got burnt. he's not going to dip his toes in the water on us anymore. he took a lot of crap from his BR cohorts in 15 and 16 for his "all in" approach on TN.

Has to be. He said that we were going to get smoked by our rivals. Why in the world would he think that we're going to get smoked by Florida and GA?

Never was a fan of Chaney when he was here. Can't remember how many times we'd be in a 3rd and 1 or 2 and we come out in the gun. Way too pass happy IMO. That's why Bielema sent him packing.

Also the running game always seemed like an afterthought to him. Abandoned it too early many, many times.
