Jordan would have Lebron flopping all over the court, faking cramps, crying for phantom fouls to be called and begging to come to the Bulls because he would never ever be able to beat the greatest of all time.

Gap isn't that big between LeBron and MJ IMO. For talking purposes let's say that Jordan had played in this era and LeBron never existed. You put Jordan on the same teams with the same players that LeBron has had and I think MJ probably has 4 rings instead of 3. He would have lost to the Spurs twice, and to the Warriors once. Would have beaten Dallas. Jordan never faced a team as good as the Warriors or the Spurs in his day IMO.

Were you born after 1990?

I think Jordan is GOAT, FTR, but dude played 15 NBA seasons. Meaning he failed to reach the Finals 9 times. I appreciate the clean 6-0 series record in the Finals. Yet we never hear about that. Maybe we would have had social media been present in the mid-90s. But LBJ gets some unfair treatment, IMO.

Different East in the 80s and 90s. The East then was like the West is now. Also, fouls then would get you thrown out of NCAA football games now. You basically had to mug a guy to get a flagrant then, the rest were just hard playoff fouls. The Pistons weren't called "The Bad Boys" for no reason.

I disliked Lebron alot when he went to Miami, because of the way he done it, and why he done it. When he came back to the Cavs, I kinda routed for him, and still respect his game. There is no doubt that he is top 3-4 all time, but Jordan is just the GOAT. I really believe Jordan would be great in any era.

Yep. We'll never know the answer the situation I just posed of course but I do enjoy the debate. Listened to a lot of people who have watched both play and I've studied the two to a pretty great extent. Jordan is definitely the goat IMO but I don't think the gap is as wide as many make it out to be.

The Big O was the best basketball player to play in the NBA to date. No player in the NBA has had as many triple doubles than Oscar.

You seem a little obsessed with bass master

Yep. Ya got me. Guilty.

Yeah, look at all those championships KD won before joining with GS to form the super team....oh....wait.

LeBron also won nothing until he created a super team in Miami when he teammed up with D-Wade and Chris Bosh (two other top 10 players at the time in their primes).

Y'all tripping. Lebron has carried the cavs. They're bad

Kyrie Irving = ROY and All-Star before teamming up with LeBron

Kevin Love = 26 PPG and 13 RPG in Minnesota before teamming up with LeBron

Kyle Korver = Best 3pt shooter in the NBA and All-Star before teamming up with LeBron

Deron Williams = former All-Star

Stop trying to make it seem like LeBron has no one else with him. He's got 2 current all-stars beside him that were dominant players before teamming up with him and vets like Kyle Korver and Deron Williams who are former all-stars with great shooting ability. And then lets not forget Tristan Thompson, JR Smith, and Iman Shumpert. LeBron James has a very talented squad. Stop making it seem like he's playing with nobody.

Cavs are stacked just like the Warriors, but they're going to get swept imo

He'll get to the finals at least two more times after this one. I'd say he'll probably win at least one more championship. He'll go down as a top 2 or 3 all time player and that's pretty undebateable.

What leads you to say that? He's going to be 33 years old by the end of 2017. He's not getting any younger. His team isn't getting any better.

And last I checked the Warriors aren't going anywhere. Kevin Durant is only 28 years old. Steph Curry is only 29 years old. Draymond Green and Klay Thompson are only 27 years old. If they beat LeBron and the Cavs this year, what makes you think they won't do it again next year or the year after that?

Warriors are winning the next 3 championships. LeBron will have to jump ship from Cleveland and join a team like the Spurs if he wants to beat this team.

Some of y'all are just spittin' what you hear Skip and other talking heads are spewing on TV or radio with the hate on LBJ. At some point can't we appreciate the fact that this Lebron dude has taken his team 7 straight Finals? 8 overall Finals. In 14 years. So far. He's never lost in the first round. This Cavs team was the worst team in the league for 4 years while he won in Miami. Came back and immediately took them to the Finals. That's not overrated. That's the definition of an MVP.

Most overall playoff points in history of NBA. Yes, it took MJ 33 fewer games to reach his scoring total. But Lebron took 150 fewer shots than MJ to get the record.

The argument for GOAT is a fair one, IMO. I grew up watching MJ, and I don't think anyone will ever surpass him. But LBJ is one of the best passers of all time. He's shooting crazy efficient right now (yes, even from 3, Bass. Look it up). And he and Kyrie put down a 73-win team up 3-1 less than a year ago. We'll see how the rest of this series goes, but even if they get swept, he still has accomplished more than almost any other player in the history of this game. That legitimizes his legacy, IMO, as one of the GOAT's.

The Eastern Conference the last 7 years has been historically weak.

This is the reason I can't really get behind this theory that making it to a lot of finals enhances your legacy if all you do is keep losing in the finals.

Put LeBron in the West rather than the East and all those cheap NBA Finals appearances disappear.

Some of you have an unhealthy obsession with Lebron James. Kinda creepy actually.

How is that any different than other people saying he's the GOAT because he beat up on a bunch of nobodies in the Eastern Conference?

We all know the East has no teams or players that can challenge him yet every May we have the annual LeBron James slurpfest because he's dominating Eastern Conference teams. Then June arrives and he loses in the NBA Finals and people like you start making excuses for him and getting mad when people call him out for performing less than what his fans make him out to be.

As they say, if it's getting too hot, stay out of the kitchen. Don't beat your chest saying LeBron is the GOAT because he's dismantling teams like Boston or Toronto in the Eastern Conference then get mad when people do the same to him for getting beat by the Spurs or Warriors in the finals.

Korver and Williams played like garbage last night and have been extremely inconsistent in the playoffs this year. Don't even try to say lebron has the same talent around him as KD. He has Stephen curry (the real best 3 shooter in the league and probably all time), draymond (got that dog in him), and klay Thompson (one of the best all around players in the league he played beautiful defense last night). Lebron got zero help last night and that was by far the worst game the Cavs have played in months. They'll get back into form and win in 7

Draymond and Klay played like garbage last night. Kevin Love outplayed both them. He had 15 points and 21 rebounds. None of the other role player on either team made much of a difference.

The real reason the Warriors beat the Cavs last night is because Durant outplayed LeBron and Curry outplayed Irving. Everything else was even.

And honestly Durant outplayed LeBron by a bigger margin than Curry outplayed Kyrie. That was the deciding factor in the game.

Ah now I see. You only look at stat lines. Go back and watch the tape of klay Thompson. He shut down everyone he guarded. The biggest difference was the Cavs looked lost and turned the ball over too much. Lebron never wins game 1 of the finals. Again Cavs in 7

After reading this thread and seeing that my initial post somewhat was in the same ballpark as agreeing with D4H, I humbly change my opinion. Thx.

Me too. Lebron has to be GOAT now...don't know how...but it has to be.
