What does this mean, "Butch is a piñata?" That all teams are negative recruiting them I guess?

Wow. Brice's fall has been kinda hard to watch.

Bet he wishes he could go back and pass on that offer from 247 a year ago.

I always thought he was the weak link on VQ staff anyway. Fort and Hubbs were the goods. Looks like they've landed another good one with Simonton.

I like Price. He's a Vol homer

He is done so now he thinks he is cool by dropping that Palmer balky knee line. That's why TN staff doesn't want injury reporting because I mean wtf that even mean? Balky knee? Hell you mention knee and Vol twitter will assume career ending injury. He didn't care until he got played hard by TN giving him bogus info and then feeding his former employer and hyams the real story day's later to make him look like a fool. It's why he is quitting

I kind of feel bad for John. Always thought he was a good guy. He was on 3HL in Nashville last Thursday for what I assumed was the last time because it sounded like he got a little choked up at the end. What info was he given that was bogus? I remember that he's got a few things wrong over the last year or so but can't remember exactly what. He should have never left volquest.

I don't remember what exactly but I remember 247 reporting several erroneous stories only to have Hubbs/Hyams have the real story a day later.

It was after the Haney article.

I used to like Brice a lot more. He has some sort of childish vendetta against the program it seems. I don't get how hard it is to just not put any injury reports and not write anything negative about the program. This football program is a business. If I have the authority to pull your credentials because you're painting my program in negative light, you bet I will. For one, that gets the fans riled up , and also can affect recruiting. It doesn't bother me one bit he's gone to be honest.

I agree. It's called controlling the message, and you have the right to do it. Just like the Memphis Grizzlies creating their own media department and releasing everything through it.

So you don't want complete information conveyed by those covering the team? You talk about business...well, that's bad business for the journalist. I get that you have to strike a balance to maintain access, but Brice and others aren't there to be the propoganda arm for the program.

I want UT football to be treated with respect by the media.

John Brice and those bunch of whiners are a bunch of self important goofs who should have their access pulled already.

Give me a break.

Hubbs, Hyams, Harrington, Price, Lewis, Simonton, etc all do their job without taking cheap shots and constantly whining about access.

Don't have to be the propaganda arm- just don't support hit pieces like Haney wrote. Pretty simple. Reasonableness was thrown out the window. Hubbs doesn't always say glowing things, but he knows not to cross the line even though he works for the university.

They have the right to do it, and many teams and businesses are doing it.
