It's amazing the leeway given to a coach when he wins a few national championships.
It's really simple folks. Winning is everything. If Butch were to put up a string of 10 win seasons and a couple championships, nobody would talk about his whining, champions of life, etc... Saban gets that kind of fear/respect/whatever because he's earned it.
I'm sure Butch understand this.
Idk about a pocket list. I'd make sure to keep track of which guys I feel are giving me a fair shake or not, most likely.
I sure as hell wouldn't ever be dumb enough to admit to it in an interview though lok
Very subjective question here, but of the guys we've signed here, rank the top 5 in your opinion, based on who you think will have the biggest impact on this team during their UT playing careers.
This could be by any metric you choose... playing time, big time plays, etc.
1. Cade Mays. Seems like an obvious #1. Likely 3-4 year starter and the kid looks like a day one impact player and likely NFL draft pick.
2. Lyn-J Dixon. I see many 50+ yard touchdown runs in his future. I also think he'll be a threat receiving out of the backfield.
3. Michael Penix Jr. Kind of going out on a limb here, as Martinez seems to be the more marque QB in this class. But this kid is still learning the position and his growth from his sophmore to junior year was impressive, and recent video of him at camps, he looks like a natural. This, by no means, is a slight on Martinez. I kind of just think when Dormandy and JG leave, it might be Penix taking the reigns if his arc continues up.
4. Brant Lawless. His size and athleticism can't be coached. I think as a NT he's being misused in high school and if you put him at the 3 along the line, he'll be a disruptive monster.
5. Tanner Ingle. If this kid was two inches taller, he'd be a more highly sought after recruit. He's a missle in the secondary and the honey badger comparisons have been out there. I think he can live up to them.
Right or wrong, I'm rooting for all of the kids that want to be a part of what we're building here.
That OL pushed the DL backwards 5-6 yards off the LOS each play. It was amazing. Complete domination and they would not be denied. Henry looked like a bowling ball rolling downhill. There was zero doubt we were going to score.
Jr was like 2-3 weeks old. My wife was so pissed at how loud I was during that drive.
Me screaming, dog barking, baby crying, wife yelling.. GLORIOUS
lol. Do as I say not as I do. Got it.
This illustrates the unfairness of the treatment with Butch. Thanks. :hi:

lol "not as I do?" Do you even understand the meaning of that phrase? For it to even apply the way you're trying to use it, I'd have had to either actually kept a pocket list at some point in my life AND told the media about it AND hypocritically criticized Butch for talking about it to the media. All I did was say keeping a list is fine, but dude keep it to yourself.
But, as it's stands, I've never done any of that anyway, so using it here is just...um...idk, meaningless (at best). But if we're just throwing random phrases out there as an attempt at wit, I'll join in:
"You miss 100% of the shots you don't' take."
-Wayne Gretzky
-Michael Scott
Lying on the floor after I jumped the coffee table! It was the most unbelievable thing I've seen from UT.
Music City Miracle and DNB rank as the best two finishes I can remember.
