That OL pushed the DL backwards 5-6 yards off the LOS each play. It was amazing. Complete domination and they would not be denied. Henry looked like a bowling ball rolling downhill. There was zero doubt we were going to score.

Jr was like 2-3 weeks old. My wife was so pissed at how loud I was during that drive.

Me screaming, dog barking, baby crying, wife yelling.. GLORIOUS
awesome day, i believe ohio state lost that day helping push us up the bcs poll putting the cherry on top that day. destiny. also thank you to a&m for later beating k state, glad we didnt play micheal bishop and co in the fiesta bowl.

Still don't see how a 5-7 Texas team is ranked with a new coach. If they win week 1, they will probably shoot into the top 10.

Texas is back folks!

Edit* been getting Swansoned all day. This job is really getting in the way of my volnation surfing.

Now who is moving the goal post? Where is the chart that shows what a coach can and cannot say, proportional to how good of a coach they are perceived to be?

If Butch acted the way saban does you know he would get crushed even worse than he does.

I missed the beginning of this debate but the reason Alabama Media doesn't poke fun at Saban is because they'd be mobbed by the general public and even their cousins wouldn't sleep with them anymore.

That does have a great deal to do with Saban's success.

The Knoxville media does what they do because people pay them for it. I think that reflects on our fans as much as it does on anything.

Otherwise, I generally agree. I thought they should have let him go after last season, but it has nothing to do most of the things the media criticizes him for. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the discussion.

At the end of the day, this whole "the media is the enemy" thing is surreal to me. It's not unique to Butch either- POTUS obsesses over it. With the greater connectivity society has, and a growing list of media and ways to consume it, it's not going to change. Best to focus on your actual enemies like Alabama, Florida, or North Korea than something that is so nebulous, and at the level we are talking, insignificant, like the media.

It's pretty sad really. Butch is out there saying that we want to win championships. But why shouldn't he tout his accomplishments. These things haven't been done around here in a long time. He's not saying we've arrived, just that we've come a long way. What's so bad about that?

I just think it's ridiculous how a large portion of the media, and a small but vocal portion of our idiot fan base keeps poking fun for every little thing. It's like it's the popular thing to do now, so people think it makes them "cool" to jump on the bandwagon. It's really lame and played out.

Exactly! People act like he should be ashamed of the job he has done here as if he is a Dooley level failure. He hasn't been perfect but we have made tremendous progress so far.

I look at it like this: In my profession, I want my work to be admired for it's quality. A plumber wants to be known for great plumbing. A chef for great food. A member of the media should want to be remembered for quality reporting. Instead, most aim to gain the most attention; good or bad. There's no integrity anymore; no sense of responsibility or greater standard. It's all about first and most shocking. Truth and quality fall somewhere way on down the list of priorities.
