Phil Steel just said Florida will be the surprise team in college football this year

I am glad that they are getting all this love. It will make it that much more satisfying when that huge smacking sound of them crashing back to earth will emanate from Gainesville after we go down there and WTFA.

To be fair to Foreman, I don't think he quit on that play. Ridley did a good job of baiting him into slowing. Ridley slowed down so Foreman slowed down, then Ridley accelerates quickly and gets a step or two on Foreman and there was not enough time for Foreman to catch up in that short of space. I thought it was nicely done by Ridley.

It does not matter. He was a senior and should not have been baited. You cannot let that happen with 19 seconds to go. You cannot.

Again not covering for Foreman and I can't say this with certainty as I don't know for sure what defense was called but you have to have some help over the top by the safety on that play. My recollection is they were in cover two because both safeties were in the end zone over the top of the play and just didn't read the QB's eyes to get over and help on the play.

Yep, except that Abernathy wasn't in the EZ, but rather he drifted to much into the middle of the field and could not recover to help Foreman.

If the receiver slows down the corner has to slow down to stay with him. You can't simply keep running full speed if the guy your defending slows up. You have to consider it may be a back shoulder throw.

I get that. He was still toasted. Can't happen.

Forman had a pretty bad problem of doing stupid things like that at the worst possible time. He made that boneheaded mistake in the UGA game and many forget he also loafed against Florida in 2015 when they scored the winning TD. Glad he's gone.

Glad he's gone?

Damn that is harsh for a kid that made the most miraculous hustle play in memory

He made a big time play at A&M but he would have been the reason we lost to UGA had we not hit a Hail Mary and I could argue he was the reason he lost the 2015 Florida game. He hustles then and they don't score. Players like that get your rear end beat.

ND isn't as terrible as everyone makes them out to be IMO. Even though they were 4-8 last year they finished 26th in the S&P+ and were 1-7 in 1 possession games. I don't think they're great or anything but they'll be a good barometer to gauge just what UGA is this season

And they have a coach who is coaching for his job. Kelly needs this win as bad as anything this year.

You hate Georgia like I hate Florida. Georgia will have a solid defense with great running game. They return a QB with serious talent. If he's beat out that means another 5 star beat him. Their only question is OL and while that's big if, it's less than any other team in east.

We can win east but we'll have to stay healthy. 10-2 is a dream season for us imo.

They still have Kirby though. As much as some like to punk Butch, I would n't trade coches, at least not at this time..

Getting beat doesn't mean not hustling imo

I'm not sure why everyone thinks Georgia is so bad on here.

We do realize it took arguably the most fortunate play in program history to beat them last year with a true FR QB, right?

We were relatively healthy at that point, too.

Plus they return 17 starters

It also took a near impossible play by them to put us in that position. Everyone seems to think when someone else does it, it's talent but when we pull a spectacular play, it has to be all luck, even though Butch has them practice that very play all the time..

A bit harsh. Similar to coleman Foreman gets viewed more for what he did early in career than the end by fan base. Foreman got better from the end of jR year and on. He was more than serviceable. He made a boneheaded play st UGA as a Sr by underestimating Eason arm and Ridley was smart to act like he was giving up on route but let's not forget Foreman had a great Interception drive before that normally would seal the victory if your OC wasn't Mike Debord calling HB dives with Kamara
