A bit harsh. Similar to coleman Foreman gets viewed more for what he did early in career than the end by fan base. Foreman got better from the end of jR year and on. He was more than serviceable. He made a boneheaded play st UGA as a Sr by underestimating Eason arm and Ridley was smart to act like he was giving up on route but let's not forget Foreman had a great Interception drive before that normally would seal the victory if your OC wasn't Mike Debord calling HB dives with Kamara

Didn't Foreman have the PI against OU on a pass in the endzone that was way over the receiver's head? Would have ended the game. I think that and the FL game were reasons a lot of people are down on Foreman. But, yeah, he also made a play at TAM and wasn't it SC where he punched out the ball at the end of the game? Kind of like a home-run hitter that strikes out a lot.

And the pick against Georgia with 2mins left. Had his ups and downs but was a solid contributor here after the staff signed him late in the cycle

For me, it's not if the things he said are 100% true, false or even in between. It's that his job is to find talent, not trash people he doesn't think are good enough.

It's like if you were judging science projects. But instead of trying to find the winners to move on to the next level, you went and told this NFL scout that his son seemed too stupid to participate.
Just no reason.
Eh, idk. I do think that scout went overboard in this situation. There's just no need at all to s*** on a player like that just for an article. Especially anonymously.

But also a big part of NFL scouts job is keeping teams from wasting draft picks. So in that regard, I can totally get a scout having and sharing an opinion like that. But for NFL teams, not guys who write for seccountry.com lol

I think it's much more likely that the quotes were made up than from a legit NFL scout. I think the quotes are accurate but I don't see an NFL scout making those statements for public consumption

lol you think he just made them up?

I think you're really underestimating how freely people will talk when guranteed anonymity.

I was listening to Ainge's podcast from yesterday (this is before the story of being soft) and he and Brian were going through the numbers and essentially Ethan has a really good chance, if he can stay healthy this year, of setting the records for TE receptions at Tennessee, total receiving yards by a TE at UT, and total TD's receiving by a TE at UT. In order to pull that off he doesn't really need to have that much of a better season than he had last year. Ainge has been really high on Wolf since fall practice started based on what he's seen of the practices.

Most of our great TEs haven't had 4 seasons as a starter to build those stats though.

This explains a lot actually lol

Darth,

You need to understand scouting more in this context. An organization doesn't want their true feelings out there to influence others. One organization would want others to draft a kid they don't believe in. Thus even if unnamed organizations have something to lose with such things being out there.

Here is the criteria:

College graduate or departed the University in good academic standing
Olympian
All-America
National Team Member
All-SEC (minimum of two times)
Conference or National Player/Athlete of the Year
University, American or World Record holder
SEC Champion
AIAW or NCAA Champion or Top 4 finish

Criteria for staff includes:

Provided outstanding service to Tennessee Athletics

It looks like the inaugural football class was:

Football

*Doug Atkins (1950-52)
*George Cafego (1937-39)
*Steve DeLong (1962-64)
*Bobby Dodd (1928-1930)
*Nathan Dougherty (1906-09)
Frank Emanuel (1963-65)
*Beattie Feathers (1931-33)
*Bob Foxx (1938-1940)
*Harry Galbreath (1984-87)
*Herman Hickman (1929-1931)
Bob Johnson (1965-67)
Chip Kell (1968-1970)
Steve Kiner (1967-69)
*Hank Lauricella (1949-1951)
John Majors (1954-56)
Peyton Manning (1994-97)
Lester McClain (1968-1970)
*Gene McEver (1928-1931)
John Michels (1950-52)
*Ed Molinski (1938-1940)
Stanley Morgan (1973-76)
Larry Seivers (1973-76)
*Bob Suffridge (1938-1940)
*Jackie Walker (1969-1971)
*Reggie White (1980-83)
Al Wilson (1995-98)
*Bowden Wyatt (1936-38)

Some great names on there, for sure, but to leave off Fulmer and Neyland is beyond stupid. FYI Condredge Holloway was also in the class as a baseball player.

So have there only been players inducted until now? Is it new that staff can be inducted? That's really the only reasonable explanation. Although I would assume Pat would be part of this class if it were a new requirement, so I doubt that's the case.

Fail all around if Neyland wasn't in there the moment non-players were eligible.

What is funny is that Griff would take a bullet for Fulmer. The guy falls in love with certain people. It's weird. He loves to incite people though. Used to get on twitter and argue with fans for hours about how great Fulmer and Chavis were.

He is an odd duck.

I argued with him about the Browns and how much they suck.

The phrase "like a lot of those Tennessee guys" is what I found so odd. Its as if he's saying that's a common thought.

They just put 6 generally well thought of guys into the league, all the first 4 rounds. It doesn't add up.

I don't know if it was made up, edited to the point of not making sense, or the guy was just bullsh!tting over some drinks and MG took it seriously.

Griffith is one of the densest writer this market has ever had. I wish he was still in East Lansing. He makes Jimmy Hyams look sharp.

Who is Mike Griffith?

He was the basketball beat writer for the KNS. Honestly, the 4 or 5 guys that followed him have been a lot worse and can barely do their job. He did a great job covering those Pearl teams as I recall.

He covered UT football for year and years as well. Before he was in Knoxville I think he covered Auburn.

A few years back he took a job covering Michigan State. Fell in love with their coach just like he did Fulmer. It's really strange.

Anyways, he has somehow circled back around and is covering the SEC again apparently. Mike is entertaining because listening to him talk you can't really tell if he is serious. In some ways its like a 16 year old is covering major college athletics. Not sure how to describe it. Maybe he writes his stuff under the influence or something.
