First few rds will be entertaining but anything after 3 will be boring or Floyd domination. Conor not conditioned to get that far at least based on past histroy. These dudes about to make so much money from this promotion and fight.

Yes

No one likes his style, but Floyd is paid to win

Conner will get impatient and open himself up.

I don't understand why people pay to watch Floyd avoid hits and dance around for 12 rounds with only a few occasional punches thrown. Who is entertained by that? Why would people pay hundreds of dollars when they know he'll just dance away all night long?

I'm not a boxing fan and know little about the sport, but if you someone has the skill to avoid hits and punches from the best fighters in the world for an entire fight, shouldn't that be kind of impressive in its own way?

Sure. But it's really boring to watch and if you've seen one Floyd fight you've seen them all. And now he's going to fight a guy who's not even a professional boxer? McGregor won't hit him 5 times the entire fight.

If I'm paying to watch boxing I want to see some knockdowns, bloody eyes and eventually someone get KTFO. JMO

JMO and only my opinion - Chip K would flourish in the SEC at UT. My Top Ten:

1) SEC and UT are highly attractive nationally for recruiting
2) Proven ability to develop an innovative offense
3) An AD that understands UT, SEC, and football to hire and support him, but also reign him in when needed
4) Dabo's/Freeze's success with innovative offenses against Saban equals Bama's Achilles' Heel. Beat Bama, control your football destiny
5) Coaching life lessons that have increased Chip's wisdom and knowledge
6) Would stay out of the way of the top DC he could hire (unlike Butch's past)
7) UT's historical status as a Top Ten program despite recent performances
8) UT's top facilities and student/athlete support structure
9) UT's fan base
10) Knows the minefield known as the "media"

Just off the top of my head. Sure, there are downsides. However, there are with every potential hire and this one has played on the big stage before while succeeding at a high level even if it was the Pac. Before they each won a NC, people were saying similar stuff about Dabo and Jimbo prior to the Butch hiring - do not want. Most are rethinking that one. I also feel somewhat this way about Bob Stoops FWIW.

However, I am not ready to give up on Butch yet. 8 wins minimum nets him another year or much more depending on the final outcome. I am taking the over. I think he has found a very interesting combo of coaches that are significantly better than the past and have even more upside. He needs to win and change the narrative and respect to increase the flow of elite talent. From all reports he is a little less hands on so far and is allowing Scott to modify the O a bit. Those are positive signs as far as I am concerned.

Impressive isn't always enjoyable to watch

Ah I can see that. Maybe like the equivalent of seeing two football teams with super elite defenses play a game with a final score of 2-3 or something like that?

Agreed. I'd be fine if boxing died off, I hate that PPV model.

Yes, 3 and out over and over. Only no sacks, no kick returns, just 3 and out over and over again.

Well, in this case one team will keep going 3 and out. The other team will successfully run 4 yard hitches all day.

It's going to be a sanctioned point boxing clinic.

His work rate is higher than you think. Problem is he doesn't throw combinations. He pot shots all day so it's boring to watch after the first 4 rounds. I'm not paying for or going out of my way to watch this garbage fight. I don't like McGregor so I'm definitely not tuning in to this garbage.

Boxing is back and has a lot of younger guys actually knocking people out. You all are so used to Mayweather you think the sport is dead. And it's on free TV PBC has brought it back to regular TV. Canelo-GGG is on PPV but it's supposed to be too.

If boxing was on free tv like the UFC is, I would watch it. But I'm not buying HBO or Showtime just to watch boxing and I'm also not paying $100 for one fight

PBC has produced great fights and this year alone is the best year of boxing matchups since the 80s. Big fights are being made with heavy hitters.

That's because you're not a boxing fan, you're a "big boxing event fan" which is the category most people fall into these days. I love boxing and watch as much as I can (although these days having a 1 year old at home has severely dented my ability to stay up as late as I once did watching two random fighters on a Friday night) so for me having HBO and Showtime for boxing is more than worth it.

The difference is illustrated by the fact that everyone in here is talking about this three ring circus coming in August and most probably have no idea that there is an actual, honest to god great fight happening in two days. That's event fans vs. boxing fans.

Unfortunately it's not doing well on free TV but you are right about the younger guys, or at least the relatively newer guys to the general public.

I'm neither :)

I don't think I have that channel, but I'm open to watching more aggressive boxing if it's free.

Not a channel, it's a promotion and their fights are spread out all over free TV. It's been on CBS, FS1, Spike, NBCSN, and probably others.

Any fight is free if you're willing to search. You can find streaming versions of the fight everywhere. I have a few friends that love boxing and UFC and watch every major fight. They have never payed for a fight. They mainly use Periscope but if/when those get shut down they have a few other back up streams. Works for them every time.

If you want to watch a great boxing match the last Klitchko fight against the English dude was the best one I've ever seen. It was great to see three knockdowns and to see fighters come back to knock the other down. I highly recommend everyone to watch the replay of that one.
