I don't think there is a place as a HC in the NFL for Chip Kelly for the foreseeable future.

Maybe not, but he's also probably not a great fit in the SEC. may take an offer for a job up north or out west even. Who knows. I'm just thinking, if you fire a perennial 9 win coach, you better be sure you have an upgrade who will be here for the long haul. Looks like GA has made a massive mistake firing Richt and hiring Smart. Besides, would anybody deny that we win 10 in the regular season at the very least last year if we're healthy? So how do we know that we don't already have an elite coach who has also massively upgraded his staff. I mean, if we're healthy and we win 10 or 11 last year, we're not having this conversation.

That's probably inaccurate. There will be suitors for him in college after this season. Whether those will interest him is beyond me.

So there will most certainly be a place for him if he wishes. Cute though.

Just hope he doesn't end up at Florida

Same thing was said about Saban. He's a nomad, he will be there 3 or 4 years max. Well, don't look now, but we are at a decade.

Chip Kelly isn't Saban, but he'd be a top 5 coach anywhere in college. If you don't think he'd have success in the SEC, why would you fear him at Florida?

The flaw in your 10 win argument is that we lost to two vastly inferior teams. I know, we've been down this road, but I'm not taking those revisionist wins for granted based solely on injuries.

The problem with CFB media is people are reading their articles as if they actually know what they are talking about. The media has become entertainers. It is the reason ESPN let go of many who knew their sport and kept those who only run their mouth.

I didn't say he wouldn't be successful. And again, we have been down this road, but if you don't think injuries hurt us and costed us the games against those two teams, well, I dont know what to say.

Whoop. De. Do. I am Oregon alumni i think i remember his career pretty well. His gimmick high powered offense took advantage of the lack of any defense in that conference. That won't fly in the SEC.

That is a serious concern, no doubt. I really think Butch needs to be given a serious chance with this staff that he has. I don't think we should let last year ruin his time here nor Bob Shoop. Shoop was regarded as top 3 DC's in the nation for a reason.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, these decisions are never about wins and losses but about dollars and cents. If ticket sales are good and fans and boosters are supporting the program financially, they'll never make a move. As a famous coach once said "It's about selling popcorn".

3 conference titles in 4 years

46 wins in 4 years

2 BCS wins

NCG appearance

3 top 5 finishes in 4 years

8 conference or national coach of the year awards in 4 years

And the endless excuses for why Barnett performs better will continue

A certain someone always approximates Garrett to Bruce Smith. Staying healthy is part of the responsibility. Lot of "would have been in the HOF, but" candidates out there. :wink2:
