Here's something that's always bugged me. Why doesn't the NBA start two months later after or close to after football is wrapped up, then they would go through the summer almost until football starts back up?

Skylar DeLong has flipped to Bama.

CFN ranks all 14 SEC teams heading into 2017 and predicts TN at 6th. Surprised to see UF and UGA so high...

The "defense will be killer as always," quotes I read in every UF article kill me. Maybe they will be the greatest defense of all time, but it can't be assumed. They lost a lot and they aren't replacing them with a bunch of 5 and 4*'s like they usually do. This will be a defense of mostly 3*'s and UF hasn't had that in a very long time. You also have a new DC in Randy Shannon that hasn't been a DC in 11 years. He has been a position coach.

I've seen "analysis" about UF's defense not taking any steps back that basically boils down to "well, they still have CeCe Jefferson and a good LB corps, so they should be just fine."

And of course, their offense is assumed to be competent because they have Callaway and Powell. Apparently Florida only needs a couple playmakers on both sides of the ball.

And don't forget about the two unproven QB's in Zaire and Franks that most media guys are hyping up. Oh well, let them pump UF and UGA up. It will make it that much better when we stomp them this fall.

Yeah, not to mention that Malik Zaire will be a great QB, and if he isn't then that means that Franks is... lol

Did the person that made that list just do a cursory glance at what happened last year without looking at what has changed with these teams?

It's funny because it's been the secondary that's carried them the past 2 seasons

Trying to keep from being biased, I really think UF will struggle this year. I see a 6 or 7 win season for them.

That opinion is also held by people in our Athletic Department as well as a couple other SEC Athletic Departments.

Give us the scoop

Well, their aptitude for backing into an SECE championship has been stellar lately, so hopefully their talent level is down enough to make that unlikely.

I could see UT , Fla and Ga all go 5-3

Florida has a much easier home/away schedule than either UT or UGA. UT plays the most difficult West teams with Bama and LSU and UGA plays the least difficult with MSU and Auburn. I hate to say it but the path for Florida is pretty easy this year, but UGA also has it pretty easy. UT as usual has the most difficult road to SEC East Champion.

This has been the case for years
