Coach called it: a maxim 1 game.

I think we had 2 penalties all game one was roughing the kicker after Pat which only made sure we started the next series on the 25. The other was false start near the goalline which was probably better and gave the offense more room to work with. Too many time last year we had penalty after penalty on first down or lose 2-3 yards on a run or sack and we would start behind the 8 ball. Didn't have that once yesterday. That is a great improvement from last year. As I said a great foundation to start the year.

Calm down. Eat a snickers.

I am calm. I was not last night during the game. I was PO'ed during most of it. But I did not quit on the team, the program. Unlike you. And you have done it so many times. But back you come. That Loser mentality will take you absolutely nowhere in life young man.

Went back and watched video again to make sure I wasn't being unreasonable. It was a low kick and I don't think it was going to be made but I respect the other opinions. Not low as I thought.

By the way didn't realize we had Calloway in on that play until watching replay

It didn't hit him in the armpit like Lincoln. Bain penetrated and barely got a finger on it. The kick would've been low but good.

It was a disappointing performance right up until they had a chance and they seized it. They earned every point that brought them back. GT didn't give them anything. GT was a nasty opponent that didn't execute on special teams and on a two point conversion. I was mad last night like a lot of folks. Team found a way to win . Snap and clear fans long season ahead.

In the end yes but when considering what the future looks like it means something. That is the only point I am trying to make.

My hope is the defense looks much different when Tuttle gets back and against a traditional offesne but that D has some serious confidence issues and needed a good start after last year imo.

Nobody is happy with our overall performance, or, at least, I am not. There is plenty to work on and I am not at all sure it can get fixed. But, I felt good going to sleep about 2:30 this morning because my team left it all on the field and believed, like their coach did that they were going to win.

Maybe the injuries this year will be a blessing in disguise for next year. Like last year letting young dl and lbs play under fire and now this year with wr and throwing them in. Next year we get Jennings back,dk back, chance hall and new freshmen and 2019 at this point looks like a team that can compete with bama for sec title cause we should have mad depth across the board.

There was that block in the back that was missed.

Easy as hell to see also. Would've been 15 yards from the 27 where it occurred (maybe 10 yards). Also a 10 second run off forcing GT to take last timeout from our 40 with about 11 seconds left. They would most likely have to attempt field goal or Hail Mary.

I disagree with this statement:

Jones doesn’t measure up to a standard that requires him to produce nationally elite teams, but he is producing consistently good teams. That should be considered success at Tennessee.

Success at TN should be elite, not just good. He has done a good job, I agree, but the jury is still out on whether we can be elite with him. If we can't, we'll have to find someone else. This is an elite program and doesn't take a backseat to anybody.

I feel like this game was worse than the Appy game last year in terms of what the future holds. We didn't believe it after that game but we should have seen the TOs issues coming that cost us the A&M game and the lack of preparation problems that cost us usce.

People getting mad and not mad enough... take the emotion out of it and we won our first game, albeit ugly, we won. People are crazy and out of touch if they watched the game and don't think we have some serious improving to do at certain position groups. We do not have depth at DT and it showed, I don't think I saw a DT in the backfield but maybe once or twice the entire game. Our O line must come out on fire instead of getting pushed around the first half, they looked soft, scared, and confused for almost three quarters. Our QB needs to quit throwing off his back foot, quit staring down his WRs, and be more mobile. Our play calling has got to improve. You are 3rd and 6 and you throw a pass for 25 that ends up being incomplete... WRs need to quit dropping balls... It can all be fixed and improved on except the DT depth I am afraid, and of course our LB depth... We are getting ready to play FL, GA, AL, LSU, etc. and they are NOT GT... we play them like we played last night and we will simply lose... probably badly in most cases... So yes it is great we got past this weird offense and first game jitters, but we have to improve or things are not going to go well the remainder of the season. Demz tha facts.
