What was it said Saban brings financially to Bama? 100 million a yr or something. Gruden could do the same. All games sell outs. All season tickets sold out. The merchandise alone with the chuckey face would be ungodly.

Question...

In your opinion, what would Butch have to do to win over the fanbase and prove that Saturday was a fluke?

I'm going to say that he has to win out for the rest of the regular season, make it to Atlanta (not win, per say) and win a bowl game.

Seriously.

What say you, RF?

He'd have to go back in time and replay 2016, for me. We looked like a poorly coached team then and do now as well.

Because they should have ran the ball, both to score because we were gashing them, to remove the risk of an interception, AND to run clock, leave them no time. I don't understand how people can argue against that.

The number 1 goal was to score a TD. We
Do that if JK catches the ball. I don't understand how anyone can argue against that.

It would be worth it for Currie to give him whatever it takes. You're right, he would pay for himself. Pay him 9-10 mill and he will come imo. I'm tired of hiring somebody and hoping it works out. Go hire a guy that you know is an elite coach. Lets go already. It's been 10 years since we've won even the east! Its long enough.

Gruden would kill it here.

Not sure he would ever make the jump to college, and can't really blame him either. It's fun to think about though.

I'm about to talk myself into this thing but I agree. What does saban make 7.5? Offer him 9. You think you get your donations for your 106 million neyland renovation? Of course. It is a no brained. He's probably comfortable though just calling games

The more I think about that 2nd half the more I think Larry Scott really showed a lot. He made some great calls and our O took over the football game in the 4th QT. Sure the first and goal was bad but let's hope he learned to take away the freedom to check out of a run call. People want to complain about those last 3 plays but he fed our horses in those 3 plays. JK had his number called twice and dropped the game winner while the other was well defended. Calloway could have won the 50/50 ball on 2nd down. Make either of those and we are celebrating an OC that grew up right before our eyes. He was dang good in the 4th QT.

Was it Neyland who said that 3 things can happen when you pass and two of them are bad? Welp.

Here is where I wonder if UT goes for a guy that is a current HC vs a coordinator. The buyouts just from HC's for Butch and Fuente would be a 13.5 million dollar change. However OC's/DC's have barely anything.

I'm pretty sure some Coordinators even have clauses in their contract that reduce or negate buyouts if it's a promotion to a HC job.

I may be thinking of NFL coordinators though.

I wasn't totally displeased with Scott. He reminded me of what a first time coordinator would look like. Able to move the ball to the 10 yard line or better but then couldn't figure out how to get it in.

I disagree. It wasn't just the last possession. It was the idiotic calls when we had two attempts at a first and goal at the 1 and inside the 6.

It was the fact we had it deep in Florida zone and decided to call a pass that led to holding and then another that led to sack and missed field goal.

Florida had no answer for our run in second half and we got too damn cute.

I am a 0 time coordinator, but when I got inside the 10 twice the other day with JK ramming the ball down their throats, I would have run one of 3 plays...hand off right, hand off left, and hand off up the middle.

Haven't seen a snap count but all 3 DEs play quite a bit. Phillips plays both sides in relief of both guys. Thought phillips has gotten a lot of snaps to be honest

I don't know the snap count and won't pretend to know.. but we all have eyeballs. I'd venture to guess #1 has played more but that's just based on glaring mistakes. Damn near every snap in the first couple possession for UF went towards #1 side.

Maybe Kongbo can be the "rotation" guy. Or the bench guy. Or the water guy. Or the.....?
