I disagree. It wasn't just the last possession. It was the idiotic calls when we had two attempts at a first and goal at the 1 and inside the 6.

It was the fact we had it deep in Florida zone and decided to call a pass that led to holding and then another that led to sack and missed field goal.

Florida had no answer for our run in second half and we got too damn cute.

I’m with Bruin. Yes he blundered the goal line plays. He can’t control the penalties and sack that’s on the players. We scored 17 points in the fourth and was in the red zone two more times in the second half while missing 2 fgs. He had Florida reeling it was Georgia Tech part 2. If we would have made it to ot I believe he would have won it. He def makes good adjustments he just needs to make them sooner like after the 2nd series in the first.

I am a 0 time coordinator, but when I got inside the 10 twice the other day with JK ramming the ball down their throats, I would have run one of 3 plays...hand off right, hand off left, and hand off up the middle.

I would have put Kelly, calloway, and Chandler in the backfield in wildcat formation and said stop this if you can.

I don't know the snap count and won't pretend to know.. but we all have eyeballs. I'd venture to guess #1 has played more but that's just based on glaring mistakes. Damn near every snap in the first couple possession for UF went towards #1 side.

Maybe Kongbo can be the "rotation" guy. Or the bench guy. Or the water guy. Or the.....?

I like the the 3 line look they showed with 19, 1 in the middle, and 5. Def gives them a good look for speed.

After going back and forth...

Most everyone with sense agreed Tennessee wasn't supposed to win the East this year. Almost everyone had us at 8-4 with losses to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU.

Yes, Florida ended up worse than we thought and yes, we coached terribly. But at the end of the day we are still are on track to match last season's (albeit disappointing) record, even without Barnett and Dobbs and Kamara at 8-4.

In my opinion Butch Jones has proven he isn't the guy to lead us to a championship... but unless we lose to one of the weak SEC teams or Southern Miss, like it or not, we will very likely be stuck with Butch another year.

Lol. It's not like we weren't destroying them with JK out of the backfield as a pass catcher.
We threw two passes to him. If he catches the one everyone here is crowning Scott as a genius.

I'm pretty sure some Coordinators even have clauses in their contract that reduce or negate buyouts if it's a promotion to a HC job.

I may be thinking of NFL coordinators though.

If we went the coordinator route it'd have to be either Venables or Martin. Tee is a Tennessee guy through and through, but I still think I'd rather have Venables if it came down to those two.

But he didn't. I don't know why you're hung up on one play. We're talking about the other 5.

This. If he is able to keep his recruiting class the next coach after next year will have a full cupboard. Would be fun to watch.

I agree on the 3. But the last 3 were good calls

As much as they were sucking wind and not stopping the run I would have ran on first and second down make them use their to then throw the pass jk dropped on third. But that’s me being an arm chair OC

I liked the plays called in the 2nd half that kind of took advantage of UFs blitz. The RB screens, the fake RB screen, hit Austin Pope behind the D line when the LB blitzed. I also liked the play with Richmond lined up out wide. Would have been a TD looked like if either QD had thrown to the right spot or Smith had ran the right route. Thats one thing that needs cleaned up. Recievers and QD being on the same page.

Those same people with sense were touting UF as a favorite and NC dark horse.

Looks like they ran the fake screen twice the first time he missed Calloway due to pressure but if he would have hit him he had a ton of field to run. I love that wrinkle play call. It’s definitely something Scott has brought cause I’ve never seen them run that. Nice play

What does everyone think of the MSU/GA game this weekend? I think this is a good litmus test for Georgia and Fromm. Definitely could be good for us if MSU takes it to them like they did against LSU

If we went the college coordinator route, those, along with Schiano, would be my 3.

Do you think it's easier to execute a pass play or a running play?

I think that first down play where JK dropped it was the absolute perfect call. Much easier executing that catch and walking into the endzone that rushing for 9 yards with that defense crowding the line. Watch the film.
Every single defender was in the LOS.
Zero defenders off the ball

Should be a great game. If MSU wins then Mullen is going to be a super hot commodity
