Texas a&m and SMU both used trash cans too

But Butch is a corny mess!

Blurb from GTSwarm.com about Marshall:

I am starting to think Marshall may just be special, too. I remember Paul Johnson saying about 3 weeks before the game, he knew who the QB was going to be. Isn't Marshall a RS freshman? Doesn't matter, Johnson saw the talent and knew he was better than the more experienced Jordan, that beat VT last year. Like dude posted above, Jordan came in and it was 3 and out. Maybe Jordan hadn't found his flow, yet or maybe it was like guarding LeBron (sorry,Bass) all game and then getting to guard Dallas Bowling for a minute. U went from facing the best at what they do to pretty good.

Look at that analogy, somehow I referenced 2 VN members and LeBron

Re-watched fame last night. Agree Byrd could have had a big game from two of the passes that he should have been led on. I know in one he had pressure that forced that. The other I can't remember.

I know some refuse to give QD any credit but in order for Callaway to Moss someone the ball had to be placed perfectly and man did Q throw a perfect fade from the left hash to where only his guy could catch it. He did same on the deep jump ball; not perfect but only where his guy could get it. On the 50 yard TD It appeared QD pulled it on a RPO and throwing to Callwaay instead of handing to Chandler. So he saw something.

Q wasn't perfect but he showed some skills that can be successful for us. He also didn't look like some slow poke either. Looked pretty good when he kept the ball

Absolutely. There were three problems I saw with Q.

1.) Read progression. This cost him badly early on in the game with a couple of throws into 3-5 defenders. If he would have progressed his read to the next route there was a great chance for success. Case in point he fixated on JJ early in the game, forced a throw to him in between what felt like half the defense and Johnson had a 3 step lead on a post route coming across behind him. TD missed. It's his first start with some obvious jitters. This can easily be fixed through film study and game experience.

2.) His throwing base. This is something I find kind of goofy with Dormady. If you watch his base a lot of the times he is not throwing off of his back foot but off balance with his weight way back on his heels and it almost looks like he's about to fall back on his a$$ (This becomes a lot more evident when there is even the sense of some pressure on him). This is something that is going to cause large inconsistency in his accuracy and arm strength. Surprisingly though he was able to put a couple of these balls on the money (look at the Ethan Wolf catch that resulted in a 1st and goal. It's truly amazing he was able to throw that accurately) I am sure Chico saw this and hope this is something that with some drills and experience he can fix this in him.

3.) Short Arming. This caused several of his balls to float and not be on point. This was evident in several touch type passes he threw. It's like a pitcher trying to "aim" a pitch instead of throw it. On the touch passes you gotta take some juice off of the arm but still follow through. This is a mental thing that yet again I'm sure Chico will see this and get it fixed.

The great thing I saw about Dormady is if he is balanced in his base and he follows through with his throwing motion the ball is going to be there and with some zip. If he can step up in the pocket a little and keep that base without falling back he will be successful and I believe that is the potential the coaches are seeing in him and what us fans saw later in the game.

If he takes to coaching these things should be easily worked out.

Nigel should have thought about hitting "send" a little bit longer. But, hell, look at the FF, he is right. But, he should have kept it to himself

It has been deleted. What did it say?

Chicken wings, legs and thighs are all good on the grill, IMO. Pork chops are great also. There are many good recipes for seasoning them on the interwebs. You can buy a boneless pork tenderloin for a reasonable price and slice it how you want.

wings isn't a bad suggestion

I do believe there's such a thing as a gamer. That's exactly what Dobbs was. Some guys can just mentally and physically turn it up a notch or two when the lights come on. Hopefully that's the case with Guarantano.

Well we know Dormandy is. Looks like JG wasn't much of a teammate. Same guys wanting to reward a baby. Didn't that get us into trouble last year?

I think the JG has been dealt with and likely wasn't as big a deal as was first suspected. I would prefer to see him more engaged but we only saw a glimpse when ESPN decided to show him. I don't think it will be an issue going forward. JG will play and is one snap away from being THE MAN. I think the coaches corrected anything that required correcting and we are full speed ahead!

All he tweeted was that he thought alot of fans weren't loyal.

Troof. People expecting Bama level performances are the ones being let down. I expected a lot more but what I saw was a gritty no quit team that has a lot of fight and is going to be fun to watch this year. I hope they grow and improve and show all the good time "fans" what they can do.

I just think it is silly to focus on our trash can when Miami has a freakin Mr. T starter kit and Bama has a dang championship wrestling belt. I'm sure countless other schools have their own thing but folks love to hate on Butch for erry little thing.

I'll tell you another thing, I bet Jim MacElwain wishes he had some 5* hearts on his team instead of Ali Babba and the 40 thieves.

Florida also uses a trash can

Very little "risk" involved with anything on a message board imo, but some people like to be a little extra dramatic.

The word "risk" also carries some of the same connotations as the word "possibility." In fact, if you look in a thesaurus (it's like a dictionary, but it gives you synonyms [that means two words that mean the same thing, like big and large, for example] and antonyms [that means two words that mean the opposite thing, like big and little, for example] along with definitions), you'll probably even see the two listed as synonymous!

So, to correct your post, one might say there are al types of risks involved with message boards! Like the risk of not fully comprehending someone's post and making an ill thought-out reply, or the risk of accidentally liking one of D4H's posts and never being able to take it back. The possibilities are endless!
