I've had tons of wiseacre, they are a very good brewery but they are a tier or two below the ones I mentioned. Same goes for Yee Haw, they have a killer Dunkel, just not in the same tier.
Liquor legislation changes in Tennessee have really helped a craft beer renaissance across the state. It's a great time for people that love beer.
As someone that is a supervisor at the liquor store with the largest craft beer selection in the South East, I have the opportunity to try basically everything that is available in our market and some things that aren't.
I have gotten into it quite a bit, and my local store in west TN probably gets more than any others around. I assume, though, that some of the smaller breweries in middle and east TN just aren't distributing that much. We can get the regulars- Yazoo, Fat Bottom, and Jackelope but not much else.
I actually went to Yee Haw before the Battle at Bristol. I thought the environment was cool, and the beer was ok. Nothing spectacular.
I have heard about Southern Grist, but the boys at Wiseacre are killing it. There are some things I don't care for. But they have solid year round beers with some very good seasonals and annual releases.
My favorites are actually Bells, Cigar City, and Westbrook in Charleston.
